My boyfriend and I tried the whole chicken, lemon meringue pie and mango margaritas. They were delicious! 🤤 😋

Went down here with son, DIL, her Mom (who's in from Prague) and the 2 grandkids. This is awesome. A very friendly, uniquely outdoor place. The bridge was built in 1906 and they just reopened it as this so you can literally walk from KC to KCK. 3 levels, good parking. We really enjoyed it!

Extremely rude server. Our platter came with a few different sauces so we asked what they were. He told us to “just try it, they’re all good” in a condescending manner. All we wanted was a hot sauce so if that’s what one was, we didn’t need extra. Food is ok, the best thing on menu was the nachos. We had oysters, shrimp (very chewy), mussel platter, burger, white fish burger, salad and some sides. Their cocktails are good. Ambience on the river is good.

River House is a great concept in a fantastic location, but definitely has some kinks to work out (which is fair - they've only been open a few weeks). We were seated immediately because I lucked into a reservation before they stopped taking them, but I heard the hostess tell a woman in front of us that they had about a 30 minute wait. This was at 6pm on a Friday, so really not too bad for such a new restaurant. Where I think River House has room to grow is the food. We ordered oysters and they all had shell in them, plus the mignonette was much chunkier than others we've had. I really enjoyed my burger, and the lobster roll was fantastic, but the fries were just okay and their salmon and veggies portion was pretty small. I think things might be more streamlined if they leaned into their handhelds and bar type food, which were great. Service was pretty good, our server Seabass was nice and stopped by as often as they could even though they were definitely really busy! Any drink that's not water or alcohol is canned or bottled. It's not a detractor from the experience, I just personally like to know ahead of time if I'm paying $3 for a can of Diet Coke instead of a fountain with refills (which I did, thanks to Seabass). Obviously, the vibes and views are perfect for a nice day. That was probably my favorite part of dining at River House. I'd like to check it out again when they're not so new.

Let me start by saying the manager, Jamie, was genuinely apologetic about our experience and did offer to comp and discount parts of our bill. We appreciated that, but I still feel obligated to share our experience so others know what to expect. Our group of seven had been excited to try River House. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing from start to finish. After our waters were dropped off, we didn’t see our server again for about 20 minutes. Once we ordered, the issues continued. A blackened shrimp Caesar salad arrived with no shrimp, sauces requested with meals never came, and after waiting another 15 minutes without seeing our server, someone in our party had to find another employee for help. She found several servers standing around on their phones. One handed her a side of honey mustard without even looking up, nearly causing her to drop it. When the missing shrimp finally arrived, our server dropped it on the table abruptly without saying a word. My wife and I arrived a little later, so one of our friends ordered for us while we were on our way. When I asked about the appetizer we’d requested, we were told it had never been rung in. The server responded, “Well, did you put it in with ME?” which felt dismissive considering the order should have been entered regardless of who took it. My salmon, ordered medium-well, came out undercooked, and both my salmon and my wife’s burger were mediocre. Throughout the meal, we only saw our server a handful of times. Jamie came over, sincerely apologized, and acknowledged that our experience wasn’t acceptable. We also discussed the automatic 20% gratuity. It was never made clear to us whether the gratuity was because of FIFA or simply because we were a large party. Either way, we explained that while most of us work in the downtown KC restaurant industry and understand why restaurants use automatic gratuity, it’s difficult to justify mandatory gratuity when the service falls this far below expectations. Jamie told us he had removed some items and discounted “the rest.” However, when our checks arrived, only the drinks and salad had been removed. Two people in our group had already paid before we realized the discounts didn’t match what we had been told. After I questioned it, suddenly everything became 50% off. I don’t want to make accusations, but because I use Toast at work, I know it’s possible for discounts to be adjusted before payment, and the timing raised concerns. River House has a beautiful space and a lot of potential. I truly wish our first experience had reflected that.

We only had a couple of cocktails, but this is a very unique location with a bar restaurant on an old railroad bridge. Not much to it besides that, imo.

Restaurants….if you’re going to include nachos on your menu please do your due diligence and market research quality nachos. Respect the craft. I’m tapping the chips like hello? Chicken? You in there? wondering where my chicken was? I couldn’t see it…Now to their defense they said thy were out of chicken when I tried to order a chicken plate so I ordered nachos as a second option but if that’s the case don’t sell me nachos…. On top of that. The nachos had 3 ingredients? Baby them ain’t nachos….thats chips cheese and invisible chicken. The white Cheese they used was good but I could’ve went to taco bell for that…and spent $5 … My fiance ordered a burger and fries and I so wish I could eat red meat because it looked absolutely delicious! The atmosphere and service was absolutely amazing! And great music station

The River House has a really great concept and is unlike anything else in KC. The setting, atmosphere, and views make it a truly unique experience, and it’s the kind of place you want to see succeed. That said, the food and drinks could use a bit of improvement to match the level of the location. Nothing was bad, but there’s definitely room to elevate both. Overall, it balances out thanks to the vibe and scenery. It’s still worth checking out for something different, and I’m hopeful it will continue to grow into its full potential.

Excellent for lunch. Everything was ala cart. Very family and dog friendly. I got the loaded fries, it was excellent and very filling.

I thought the food was a bit overpriced and not very flavorful. It's pretty generic. Aside from that, everything was amazing!
