We absolutely love, love, love Rainbow. The quality of their bulk products is unmatched and the people are immensely helpful and kind. Plus, for the expansive selection and quality, the prices are surprisingly great. They have done an incredible job of keeping their egg prices down!! We live in San Jose and make the pilgrimage once every 6-8 weeks. It keeps our basics stocked in stocked through to our next visit. I am dedicated to becoming an excellent gluten free baker and grind most of my own flour at home. Because of Rainbow, I’m able to keep myself stocked in an array of amazing grains that I can very inexpensively grind into fresh flour. I add 1-2 Le Parfait jars to my collection every visit and I am ALMOST complete. Their prices on Le Parfait jars are the best I’ve found anywhere besides COSTCO, but COSTCO doesn’t sell the larger jars I need for bulk items I need to keep in extra large amounts, like rolled oats. Almost everything in these pictures comes from Rainbow!
Rainbow Grocery is still an SF favorite. Decades of quality groceries and the store is just about the same. Parking is generally easy with a short wait. The grocery selection is immense and prices are fair.
This is by far the best grocery store I have visited. Full of healthy whole food plant based groceries. In the bulk section many items are in wooden containers as well (just with plastic lids). Basically this is the store to go to if you want to minimize your exposure to microplastics and processed foods.
My ultimate favorite store!!! 🌈 Insanely huge bulk section where you can find so many vegan zero-waste groceries. They reward you for bringing in your own bulk containers, which is amazing since they have everything you can need in bulk (including household products!) I also love that they're vegetarian, worker owned, and fight for marginalized communities. Truly a magical place ✨🌈✨
I was blessed to live and be in this place. The staff is incredible and the food… the food… I’m mind blown. Freshest produce, amazing worldly finds, discoveries=endless. It’s a disservice to NOT come to Rainbow. If you ever wanted to treat your body and mind well, it’s for sure at Rainbow. Thanks everyone!
Rainbow grocery is by far the best health food store anywhere. They have the freshest nuts and seeds sold in bulk as well as a huge selection of bulk herbs and teas. Absolutely love this store.
They have so many different products! We had so much fun shopping around the store. No meat as they sell vegetarian items.
They have a parking lot in the front and one very small lot in the back. This store has a lot of specialty and organic items. It's not just a grocery store. You can buy spices by weight, soaps, vitamins...etc. if you're looking for specialty chocolates, this has a very large selection.
This person's behavior is terrible; he does not cooperate with customers and speaks very rudely. Even after I had made the payment, he took back the goods I had purchased.
If you only go to one grocery store in San Francisco make it Rainbow Grocery. It has a bit of everything but the best of that thing. The bulk and produce sections are outstanding as well as the supplements section. Their staff is as friendly as they come. Free parking. Expect to pay premium for most items, understandably so. It is SF after all and very good quality. Whether you can make Rainbow Grocery your weekly shopping store depends on your wallet, hut the quality is undeniable.
