My absolute favorite grocery store of all time. I have not found such an inventory of bulk herbs elsewhere. (And I've been to herb shops and co ops from Los Angeles to Portland to Seattle) the other bulk items are also very affordable. The best selection of cheeses, supplements, and perfumes. If you're raw vegan and want to spoil yourself, this place is for you. if you simply enjoy eating food that makes your body feel good this place is also for you.👌 💯 And most of the workers are friendly and helpful.

It's a special treat to myself to go to rainbow grocery. They have all the good bulk foods, the best produce, and so many vegan treats to try. Always great customer service too. They will even tape my berry container if I ask.

The best urban grocery store on the West Coast. The bulk section is the reason to visit often. It does feel like people from New York City work there. Mostly excellent products that may not be available anywhere else.. vegetarian only

I recently visited the Rainbow Grocery Cooperative in San Francisco, and I was extremely impressed. It is a wonderful store, with fantastic customer service. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and always willing to answer questions or offer advice. They had a wide selection of quality items, as well as products from local vendors. In addition, the prices were reasonable, and I was able to find everything I needed. I definitely recommend Rainbow Grocery Cooperative for anyone looking for a great grocery experience! Excellent location. Somewhat friendly staff sometimes. Plenty of parking. Security guard and parking lot. This location has lots of vegan options. Vegan options at this location tend to be more on the on the expensive side. They also accept Apple Pay at this location.

This place easily has the most reliably fresh produce in the city. I'm an out-of-towner having only lived here a couple years, and the lack of meat products is an interesting decision but, however, welcome, as we should all be consuming fewer animal products anyway. I ~love~ that there is a section dedicated to household goods and utensils like pots and pans and even BOOKS. It's great. Many many years ago I used to work a co-operative grocery store much like this, hundreds of miles away, and these places always have the best food, and, I miss the work culture, honestly. The discount for EBT/food assistance recipients is great. A+ Thanks.

I have been a long time customer here over the years. About 2 months ago, I bought five pounds of organic mixed dried beans as usual. When I got home, I found a lot of tiny black rice weevil inside. I called today and they said they don't return item after 30 days. This is their defective product though. Are you expected to finished eating beans in 30 days. I will report to public health

A San Francisco institution, I've been coming here for twelve years and will always come back. The bulk section is the highlight, with everything from teas and spices to dried fruit, olive oils, nut butters, sugars and flours of all varieties, dry lentils and legumes, pastas, rices, granolas, and many more than I could reasonably include in this list. I also love their selection of house-made fresh pastas, especially the caramelized onion and chard ravioli. This is the sort of neighbor place that makes you grateful to live in a city like SF.
