Reviews 100
I usually don’t like to leave bad reviews but I felt it was necessary to write this so others are aware and don’t make the same mistake I made. Went in this past Sunday and saw some cute Ugg boots at an amazing price! I was so excited about getting a good deal I failed to notice that not only were the boots a DIFFERENT SIZE but also they were 2 RIGHT FOOT BOOTS! It is totally my mistake for not checking them but also I feel like the employees knew they were selling 2 right foot boots and especially the cashier at the front who had to untie them from the hook they were on. I would have appreciated if she would had let me know they were 2 right foot boots instead of just telling me that shoes were FINAL SALE and nonreturnable. Now I am out $55 and am stuck with 2 right toed boots :( Beware and make sure to DOUBLE check every shoe you buy there.
The first time I ever went to visit this location I went to sell a pair of shoes. The store manager was very rude, immediately made me wait even though I was the next person in line she started moving everybody around right when I got to the register.. like she was irritated.. gave no apology or give a min mama nothing …. Then started clearly understanding Melanie is extremely disrespectful and you can tell that whole store dynamic is jacked up because of her I wonder what your internal complaints look like. She has no sense of understanding. I have never seen someone be so disrespectful for someone trying to sell a pair of shoes that I have the receipt to the only reason that they would not take him back is because I have already worn at this point I have contacted corporate about the situation but you need to look into your store manager. There is obviously a huge disconnect. She doesn’t know how to authenticate shoes that are in the box from the Nike store? It has a scan on the box? I wouldn’t say that management material.
Took about 20 pairs of nice brand shoes here. Not only did they offer me NOTHING for them, literally $0, they asked if I wanted to donate. Me being generous, I said sure why not. Went back here to shop at a later date and found 5 pairs of my shoes being sold between $20-$40. When I mentioned it to a manager, they said they don’t keep “donate” items. And did nothing more. What a scam.
Our favorite resale shop. My daughter always finds the cutest stuff
If you are looking for mens clothes this place has a very itty bitty tiny little selection set at the back corner of the store. Smells exactly like a normal thrift store. Ex: goodwill.
My daughter had an encounter with a manager a month ago and I left a review because I didn’t want other people to have the same experience. Since the review we moved on and put it behind us. Unfortunately, it seems some people find joy in wallowing in self-pity from a review. Almost a month later and I find myself again warning people. Since then, I’ve personally bought and sold to Plato’s and had a positive experience, too bad that euphoria was short-lived. My daughter and her friend went in to sell and buy items, while there she is asked about the encounter with that manager and she stated she did not want to talk about it, and they have read the review. Since she felt no need in discussing the incident with someone that it did not involve directly and she had moved on from the incident shortly after she walked out of the store that day, they banned her. I called and spoke with a manager and asked why she was banned over something I wrote and that she didn’t have knowledge of until after the fact. The manager advised me she asked her to talk about it and she refused then proceeded to tell me my review was harsh and the manager in question is a nice person. Well, even the nicest people have bad days. I again asked why she was banned for doing nothing and that they could ban me, I don’t care. Banning someone over a review they didn’t write truly shows how poorly this store runs its business. It appears these managers use bullying and intimidation to run their business. I inquired if they banned everyone that left a negative review and she became irate and defensive refusing to answer, so I gave attitude back used a couple of not-so-nice words. Was that the best way to end the call? Most definitely not, however; at the point she banned her over something I wrote AND over not wanting to rehash a situation that didn’t even involve that manager, which she’d moved on from, you’re going to get treated as rudely, and disrespectfully as you treated her. Why this other manager felt the need to discuss something that didn’t pertain to her and was in the past is senseless. Maybe she wanted to stir the pot, maybe she wanted to try to intimidate her, maybe she wanted to be nosey, or maybe she needed to feel like she had some type of control and power over her because she doesn’t that in her own life, who knows. She’s just a small, irrelevant subordinate who attempted to cause strife in a young girl’s day and all she really did was show that this Plato’s has a standard they hold their employees too – a subpar standard. It's obvious when reading other reviews that the majority who leave a negative review get attacked by management and no apologies are given. It’s never the manager’s fault and everyone who encounters issues and/or poor attitudes are just belittled for stating their opinion and feelings on how they were treated, which is their 1st Amendment right. Operating a business where you don't care about the customer's experience or whether they make purchases must be incredible. Above all, it must be amazing to be such flawless people that you never experience a bad day, never say something and have it interpreted incorrectly, and most importantly, you never make a mistake. I now see why Plato's is included among the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For—wait, it's not; I made a mistake. Ultimately, the original manager in question had ample opportunity to contact my daughter and apologize, clarifying that her remarks weren't meant to come off as impolite. She chose not to do so, which speaks volumes about her character, or lack thereof. Thankfully, other Plato's aren't managed by a group of inept people who obsess over past events, and who seem to be looking for opportunities to harass of young girls. I highly urge people to avoid Plato’s unless you want to take your kids there to witness firsthand what happens when they decide to grow up to be resentful, uneducated, lacking in common sense, and self-worth, which would then become a learning and educational experience for them.
Such a great place to shop at. Great customer service Hailey was super helpful.
Great amazing store!! Very clean and nice staff!
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ITEMS!! I’ve shopped/sold here for years. Today I was given an offer for clothes, I even went through the bin of stuff they were buying and told the young lady I didn’t think it was my stuff. She assured me it was, my kids sometimes pile extra stuff in bins, I assumed she was right. By the time I got home, they had called me to tell me they messed up and asked me to come back with the money. I did, I would want someone else to do that for me (and it’s not the seller’s fault). They told me over the phone they would go through my items and give me an offer when I came back. I went back an hour later, returned the cash & they told me I had no offer. My bins & bags looked EXACTLY the same as when I dropped them off…. What are the odds someone folds and stacks 4 trash bags exactly the same as I did. She then offered me “Platos cash” for less than half of what the cash was. I’ve never had this happen here before but I feel they could have handled this better. Always double check your buys!
Loved the workers everyone is supper nice and they have an amazing selection to choose from!
