Plato's Closet

I dropped my stuff off Tuesday morning (11am) they said it’d be done at like 6/7 pm and I had from then till 9 to pick up, I asked for an extension till Wednesday because I was graduating at the time they said, they said okay. Wednesday they’re closed due to their system being down- I still call and see if I can just get my stuff they’re not buying they said no. Then Thursday they just donated it… I literally tried to get it and they said no and then didn’t say anything and donated it when I quite literally called to express that I would like it back- when I went today they were just like yea that sucks… like maybe an explanation would be cool after I literally called Wednesday and tried to get it but you were closed after u had internet issues (mind u they said it was due to weather it was raining the night before and dry during the day and the other store next to them were all open) - wouldn’t recommend Plato’s, they just lack communication and blame you

I often frequent this store because I find some of the cutest items! However, every single time I experience the worst customer service of my life. I understand the staff are teenagers and I remember being a teenager working in retail, but I always treated my customers with kindness and respect no matter what I was going through. I got called to the register and the cashier just blankly glared at me. Didn't greet me, didn't smile, didn't say a word. It was very awkward so I took the liberty of saying "hi, how are you?" and she said "fine." ... Like, I'm not expecting much just maybe a friendly demeanor? She scanned my clothes and threw them all into a messy pile on the counter. ... So I guess a quick fold is not required anymore? The entire interaction was very rude and off-putting, and I hope the new management addresses this.

Went to go drop off a box and the first thing the girl tells me is I can only do one box not two because they were close to closing it was 7 they closed at 9 I waited for my clothes and they didn’t look through anything they messed up 5 items on top then everything else was folded like I had them before hand my clothes weren’t messy or dirty they were all like H&M etc very disappointing. And the front girl was very rude I asked if I could do another box but with my friend using her Id and she said I can check then didn’t move or do anything then just ignored me when I asked again.

Shopped at Plato‘s Closet @ 630 NW LOOP 410 and was assisted by the most phenomenal, caring young man named Jared with my shopping experience before Holidays. Jared took the extra time to listen to my wellness journey and feeling good bout the clothes selections. Honestly there’s another retail competitor and I personally told Jared that there is more variety and wide selections at Plato’s Closet! Thank you again Jared you deserve the best! Come and visit Plato’s Closet and ask for Jared, he will take care of you. He’s a natural retail salesperson! I bought Jlo 12 oz roller small perfume and Valentino for my hubby. The scents smell so good! Good advice Jared… “At the end of the day you have yourself; treat yourself good and be happy with what you are!!” Nice shopping place! All the employees there are amazing! Leah will always greet you once you come in, and Otiana checked us out pretty quickly! Lots of great stuff you will ever find and great prices too! The cheapest yet cute shirt I bought was 4 bucks!

I dropped off a good amount of clothes, neatly folded, fine for summer time.. they didn’t look through shit only scanned the top of the clothes. When I went to move the clothes that they just threw back on top, there were still the clothes folded how they were received… has me alllllll the way messed up. This location is genuinely the most horrible one I have been to.. I get it they’re all young me myself being young as well I know the difference between respectful and disrespectful the vibe was off I felt like they treated me from how I looked and judging me as soon as I stepped in. This was very disappointing and very unprofessional.

10/10 recommend ! Very organized . Savannah was so kind to show me around and show me all the deals. She also went above and beyond to help me find some things for my husband. I will definitely be back thanks to the awesome experience Savannah made sure I had .

There is always such a huge selection at this Plato’s closet! The cashier, Mike, was super friendly and helpful, and I’m sure he could have used more help today because the line to check out was long, and that was on a Tuesday afternoon. I hope they have more employees on the weekends!

I would rather donate my clothes than sell them here. They steal things, at least one of my pairs of shoes. I dropped off three bags of brand new clothes they told me an hour and took nearly 2 after sending me a text that my offer was ready, and then come to find they had not even started, and then went through one bag and I told them no. I asked Where were my other items where and came to find they had not gone through them. Not to mention you must pick up that day or only receive store credit. I strongly recommend going next door with your clothes!

Very bad price evaluations on clothing here! They also false advertise fake dumpling squishys as authentic. Each squishy they sell has already been opened and this means you cannot return them after purchasing without even realizing (even though it states at the bottom of the receipt otherwise). Buyers beware, you will not be reimbursed for this overpriced scam. The girl I spoke to posing as a store manager has horrible customer service.
