honestly it was just ok. Ordered the French toast 2 eggs over easy and side of potatoes. eggs were perfect but just overall … very mid. appreciated the vibe. easy in and out. comfortable hanging place but there seems to be a reason there was literally no wait at 11:55am. **sidenote** waitress brought our food. her hands were super super full. her thumb was in my side order of eggs over easy. and her right hand was full of dishes. impressive but my fricken french toast was up by her shoulder with her hair touching my French toast. I’m Samoan so I ate it but I didn’t tell my Caucasian wife 🤣🤣 she’d a made us leave 🤮🤮. Not trying to be mean. Just honest.
I recently visited this cafe and found it to be a pleasant experience overall. The location is quite convenient, making it an easy spot to meet up with friends or enjoy a quiet moment alone. The cafe offers a unique combination of a bakery and a pub, which adds to its charm and provides a variety of options for different tastes. The prices are reasonable, which is always a plus, especially when you’re looking to enjoy a meal or a drink without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is inviting and conducive to good conversation, making it an ideal place to catch up with someone. However, I found the coffee to be just okay, not quite meeting my personal expectations.
I love coming here!!! I use to live far away so it was only special occasions. I moved a lot closer. The best thing is that I have options on what I can get pretty all day!!!!
Class above ..every thing and anything to eat under one roof.. get down from train at Kansas City Station.. take a ride to market stop on free street car and you hit bang opposite to this amazing place of culinary delights..
Horrible! The food was bland and it took forever. We waited close to 40 minutes for two bland omlets. The $10 waffle, don't even get me started at how bad it was. First of all, there was no presentation to it, it was literally a piece of waffle on an ugly plate with the plastic packaged butter and syrup (like you get at McDonald's). You have to order your food and coffee separately, 10+ minute wait for the coffee alone. The coffee was bad too. The staff has a bad attitude , you have to grab your own silverware, and you have to clean your own table. Not worth it at all.
Went during the city market, so it was busy, but they were great with getting drinks done quickly and letting you know before ordering food how long a wait it'll be. It was worth the wait! I got the fuzzy navel smoothie and the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich. A very tasty smoothie, not to mention the best biscuit I've ever tasted!
They have a coffee shop right up front, if you wind towards the back they have a bar along the way, in the back there is a breakfast and sandwich place, with a bakery in the very back corner. It is like an eclectic indoor food court with two levels. A small front area for coffee, and a few steps down to the rest. The hazelnut coffee was tasty, definitely on the sweet side, but with plenty of flavor. Depending on what you are looking for, an interesting little spot to check out.
Had a side salad with a lemon honey vinaigrette, good cold crisp greens, dressing was really good just needed a touch more vinegar to cut the sweet a bit, grilled chicken panini was excellent, crisp bread tender juicy chicken, excited to go back and try the burgers, friendly staff and good atmosphere.
Ordered the eggs benedict, as you can see in the photos it came out with very little hollandaise sauce and my eggs were way over cooked. Taste wise it was okay at best. The bloody Mary was good so I guess thats good.
This place has awful customer service and the management is super unprofessional. Not a good vibe at all and the drinks were super mid quality / overpriced. Won’t be returning as there’s much better coffee shops within a short drive or even walk from here..
