All that happens is I keep getting garnishments....they are overbooked for their staff. They have charged way more than they are worth. They have settled some of the debt for less but the fees have out paced any advantage. Call your creditors handle your own debt seek legal advice case to case as needed. This all opi ion based of course ...your mileage may vary. Bottom line is pay down debt use credit as a debit you pay each month to zero balance.

This is the biggest scam I’ve ever been involved with. I enrolled in the program three years ago and to date, they have only resolved 36% of my debt. The rest was a default judgement resulting in a large wage garnishment on my end. Over the course of three years, I paid Monarch $8100 in fees. Because they failed to adequately provide legal representation as promised I requested a partial refund of 64% of the fees. Their response was that they would refund me $948….non-negotiable. I asked how they arrived at that number and the escalation department says they don’t know how it is calculated and that managers determine the number. I’ve repeatedly ask to speak with a manager and am always told managers don’t get on the phone. Getting answers and follow up from Monarch is impossible. I have been on the phone with them at least twice per week for the last three months trying to get things squared up. I finally exited the program and am still trying to collect money I paid in and didn’t receive services for. My advice is to hire your own attorney. It’s far less expensive and the communication is much easier. Monarch is an awful firm. Please read about them on BBB and look into the suites filed against their business practice before enrolling.

When I first enrolled in the debt relief program, I was relieved thinking there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I was initially told my debt would be settled in 2-3 years. I am going on year 4. Though many debts were settled, I have spent more fees than settling my debt and my largest one still remains. Yes, my debt is my fault, but I don’t recommend this company. I am no better off than I was 4 years ago. I wish that I would have figured out settling my debt a different way.

Agreeing with what others have said. One star is too much. We started this program in Aug 2019 and was promised the moon. They were awful to work with, it was like pulling teeth. I would spend hours in the phone with them thinking I was getting somewhere and expecting a promises call back to only find out when calling again that the previous rep had told me wrong information. We paid the amount as expected and even did an estimate to complete borrowing against my 401k to he done with them. The amount was way over ehat originally was told to us and even after the estimate to complete was paid then they wanted $1700 more money for this and that. I never could get any real answers out of them. I should have just dealt with the debt myself. When I looked at the reviews before entering the program it wasn't bad but obviously something changed. DO NOT USE THEM

At first this seemed like a good option for me. My credit was already pretty bad, so a program that would cause it to get worse wasn’t a big concern. However when it came to actually resolving my debts, Monarch made some costly mistakes (like not actually keeping the payment schedules they set up with my creditors even though my account balance was more than sufficient to cover the payments) and when I tried to get answers as to why these errors had occurred or what monarch was going to do to remedy them, I just got the run-around. For one creditor in particular, Monarch made a mistake that was going to cost me over $2000 (or ~25% of the resolved debt amount), so I called several times—typically being placed on hold for 15 minutes or more each time—and talked to several different people, none of whom could answer my questions. And for some reason the one person that could help was always “unavailable” but would “call me back the next day” if I left my number. I never received a single returned phone call. After going through this run-around three times for a single issue, in order to avoid further penalties related to the mistake they made, I decided to cut ties and contact the creditor directly to explain what had happened and that I was no longer represented by Monarch and would like to resolve the debt on my own by adhering to the original agreement we had reached but that Monarch had failed to comply with. Fortunately, the creditor graciously agreed. I had payed Monarch monthly for nearly two years (of an estimated 3 year program), and in that time they resolved one of my 8 debts amounting to about 8% of my total enrolled debt. Since leaving Monarch 6 months ago, I’ve resolved 5 more on my own and have beaten Monarch’s estimates by just working out my own deals with the debt collectors directly.

SCAMMERS. FRAUD! I enrolled in the debt repayment plan and they scammed $6k from me before I realized what they did. They cut you off from your creditors and take monthly payments from you. They don't pay the creditors, they make it look to the creditors like you just stopped paying. I didn't realize what they did until one of my creditors sued me for nonpayment. I had to file Chapter 13 because all my debt was tripled from a year of nonpayment with fees and interest just compounding all that time.

I was quoted an amount, nearing the end of my contract I was told that my biggest unresolved bill had not yet been resolved & that I needed to be an active participant on my account with monarch by adding additional funds. So they took the majority of my money paid off my smallest accounts then left the account with the highest amount owed for me to settle. It can either be settled by me adding more funds to Monarch or taking it off & me settling the account on my own. I implore you Do Not Do Business With Monarch Legal Group.

Where to begin with the issues I have had with this process. There are just some many things wrong with how this is managed. Multiple times, I had to spend hours on phone to get excess fees returned to me. If I had not been paying attention, I have no doubt I would have never seen that money again. Even now that I have finished the program, I'm once again waiting for funds to be returned that should have never been taken. You are better off just doing it all on your own, even if that means not paying anything for 2 years in order to save enough to pay them off. I will never recommend this company to anyone, and will do all that I can to talk people out of it.

Honestly giving a one star review is too much as they deserve a negative rating. Not doing my complete research on this company costed me over $20k since 2019. All my creditors were in good standing, I was under the impression they would make timely payments to my creditors as they have “presented” themselves to have lawyers on staff. With 6 creditors submitted they managed to resolve 3 small creditors and the other 3 large accounts went unrepresented and never contacted them which resulted in Judgements and accrued costs. The court advised me there was no legal representation during the duration in the court system and awarded judgement to the creditors that were current prior to monarch taking over. I have requested a refund of $15k for the amount I have overpaid during this time and they did not respond. I have retained an actual attorney to take over representation for the judgements as well as for civil suit against Monarch. Monarch legal has violated several sections of the Debt Settlement Protection Act. They also have ridiculous frontal loading fees they pay themselves before contacting the first creditor. In my case first creditor was contacted months after signing up. Also note that monarch and their parent companies have several lawsuits against them including one by the City of Chicago. If anyone has the same issues, I will be most glad to refer my legal counsel out to you as well as the legal counsel handling the class action suits, as they would like to gather consumers in this same situation. Besides starting my civil case I have also filed with the BBB, FTC and general states attorney to name a few. I have also contacted several social media gurus and podcast personas who were interested in learning about these cases to shed light. A representative contacted me today and couldn’t get a lawyer on the phone to discuss a settlement between us. He offered a mere $2,250 to refund. He got agitated when asked questions and instead KEVIN hung up. I will not back down till I get my full amount of my hard earned money. If u need to settle debt, you can do this yourselves with letters or find urself a family legal litigator which will be more affordable than what u will sign up for with Monarch. Also get educated on your rights before u sign with any company. Do not sign up with Monarch! It’s a scam!

Everyone stay away from this company. Been paying since August 2019. Earlier this year they tried to tell me I have to pay till 2027. End date was originally 8 15 2023. But covi forced me to relocate payments till 2024 in April. These people will do everthey can to squeeze you for extra funds as they pay themselves first. Run away from here far and fast. The New York office admitted that my case was mis handled on certain things and still expected me to pay till 2027. I told the straight out that my payments are done in 2024 as per signed paperwork. They still try to say I've got to pay. NOT HAPPENING MONARCH. THESE FOLKS NEED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO END THIS PREDATORY BUSINESS.
