In Jacksonville for a work trip and had to visit Mellow Mushroom. We went to the one in Destin, FL until it closed a few years back. Pizza was amazing as usual. Bree, our waitress, was super friendly and took excellent care of us. We will definitely go back to this location when we are in town again.
Misty was absolutely outstanding at explaining the availability of the most popular choices on the menu and it did not disappoint will definitely be back.
The food was as expected and consistent with Mellow Mushroom quality, but the experience was let down by a lack of team communication and basic customer service from management. One of our three entrées was delayed more than 20 minutes due to an oven eating mine, (my guess is it slipped off the conveyor belt). By the time it arrived, the rest of my party had already finished eating. We asked for it to be boxed to-go, but the bill came out before it was boxed, and it was still charged at full price. I eventually had to ask for it to be removed after handing it back to them. I would have preferred being asked if we still wanted the item when the issue was first identified, especially since we were on a time crunch. Instead, I was simply told, “It’s being remade already and should take about 15 minutes.” The service felt uncoordinated. Appetizers came out in stages from different servers with no explanation, one item at a time. The delayed entrée was dropped off by another server without a word, and our main server came out later unaware it had even been delivered. Throughout the experience, there was no manager presence to check on the situation or ensure things were running smoothly. Overall, the food was fine, but the lack of communication, coordination, and proactive customer service made the visit frustrating.
Kayla was a SUPERSTAR! She was attentive even though she was incredibly busy (She had like 9 tables all to herself. Boo management for that) and took the time to check in on my friend and I. Give this girl a raise!!!
Ordered some salads and a medium pepperoni pizza. Picked up my order at the counter 10-15 minutes later. They “accidentally” made me a large instead. Thought okay, cool. The pizza they gave me was clearly left over from another order because it was ice cold and tough to eat. The spinach in my salad was slimy and wilted. Had to throw $60 worth of food away and now the whole family is sick.
Always glad to see Heathers smiling face on Tuesday and Thursday nights. She is one of the main reasons why, despite many choices in Avondale, I choose the Mellow Mushroom as my 'Home' pub to relax.
Our server Emily was the best!! We came on a busy night, and she was so patient with our whole group! She gave us great menu recommendations & made sure our drinks were never empty! The food was amazing and came out pretty quickly considering the crowd! Definitely hope to get her as a server again!!

Love the vibe of this location and Shy is the absolute best!! Excellent personality, friendly service, and knows our order when we come in. She's our fav! Greek salad and House pizza is superb!
