Booked a room at Marriott Residence Inn in Waco, TX., for 3 nights. Accidentally reserved it for July 2,3,and 4th. Meant to book for 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Showed up on the 3rd to find out that they had resold the room but charged me for all 3 days and refused to refund any portion of all 3 days. I understand getting charged for days that aren't sold to someone else but it sure seems unfair to keep my money and then sell the room to a different party. Shame on Marriott for it's unethical business practice!

If I could leave no stars I would. I've had several cases open about my cancellation and now to find out my card was charged not only for my cancellation fee but also for the entire stay totally $1500 for 2 nights. Once on the phone with the customer service from Marriott international I was on the phone and they hung up on me. I call back and the associate once talking through everything told me to give it a week to expect a call back and then began to scream at me. I will not refer any colleagues or residents at any of my properties to any Marriott hotels going forward. Stay far away to avoid issues such as extremely inaccurate and unnecessary charges, terrible unprofessional customer service and manager and overall just a TERRIBLE experience.

As a Marriott Bonvoy guest, I was informed one month before arrival that Sonder The Winfield DTLA had closed. There was no proactive rebooking, even though Sonder The Craftsman DTLA — operated by the same brand — had available rooms. Marriott and Sonder both declined to offer a comparable rate or points adjustment. I’m posting here because Google no longer allows reviews for The Winfield. This raises serious concerns about transparency within the Sonder–Marriott partnership.

My recent stay at the Bethesda Downtown Marriott was excellent. The staff were highly professional, friendly, and treated every customer with respect. I stayed there for three months while my house was being renovated. Marriott embodies consistency at every level, both in the U.S. and abroad. I have stayed at over 20 Marriott hotels and resorts internationally, and the service has always exceeded my expectations. The employees are courteous and attentive, ensuring that all customers are well taken care of. Marriott is the only hotel chain I will choose whenever I travel.

I stayed at a Marriott Beach Resort and Marriott has continued to keep a pending charge of almost $2,000 on my credit card even after I paid over $7,000 for the stay which has been paid. I called customer service and they “opened a case” and every time I call for an update they say “you do not owe it, it is just a pending charge” but they will not take it off my cc and it has been over 3 weeks. I will not be staying at a Marriott but will choose to stay at a Hyatt Resort going forward. I also like how Marriott does not even bother to respond to any reviews. It shows how little customers mean to the Marriott. Howard Johnsons was such a better hotel than the Marriott will ever hope to be. Marriott just looks at customers as dollar signs and not as people. Do not stay at a Marriott.

For the past 6 months I've received multiple marketing calls daily from Marriott hotel. Each time I block the number and the next call is from a different number. I've called corporate headquarters and was told there's no department that can handle calls regarding marketing. They also said there's no number that customers can call to complain to or ask for customer service. I've already filed complaints with the FTC, next will be a cease and desist letter from my attorney. I'll never use Marriott again. I'll also give the worst review I can every opportunity I have unless someone from Marriott would like to provide some customer service and aid in correcting this situation.

Marriott Vacation Club is a PREDATORY SCAM, and they make fraudulent claims to lure innocent victims into their vacation scheme. DON'T Fall FOR IT....RUN AWAY and NEVER sign their contract. They lied and scammed us into their vacation club and every promise they made was a lie. We sent several letters to Marriott Vacation Club, our MVC salespeople and Marriott Headquarters asking for relief and help to NO AVAIL. They take your money and there is no value or support. Their sales practices to get retired folks like us and other hard-working individuals to buy into the scheme they have going on is deceptive to say the least. I have been a long time Marriott Frequent Traveler during my 45+ year career as a Vice President. I held many meetings at their hotels and resorts. We trusted your brand for a long time. However, the SCAM that Marriott Vacation Club pulled on us has cost us over $56,000+ and potentially more with maintenance fees and legal fees. The travel services they offer is a "Bait & Sitch". They state the Marriott Corporation was built on deep Christian values and Mormon beliefs. They are hardly that today with their deceptive practices with the timeshare business. The MVC (Marriott Vacation Club) practices criminal and deceptive strategies to get you to sign on to their club. DO NOT TRUST MARRIOTT ORGANIZATION ANYMORE.

Be careful before you book a Marriott hotel. If you are a member and pre-pay, they will penalize you because it is not refundable and you will lose the full hotel price even if you try to cancel more than a week ahead like I did. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had a flight that was not going to arrive until after the hotel stay, therefore I called 1 week ahead to cancel. Even though I would not physically be in the city, they still refused any refund. The lesson I learned is it is safer to not become a member and just put down a refundable deposit.

Consumers in India notice that Marriott is behind on its promise to go 100% cage-free by 2025. Battery cages, barely larger than a sheet of paper, cause severe suffering. Marriott risks its reputation by allowing millions of hens to remain trapped in brutal conditions here.

All about profit. We found out this morning we had a death in the family. I made five calls today including two calls to the headquarters asking for a refund. I spoke with four different people and they told me they wouldn't be able to give a refund. To make it even worse both young ladies I spoke to at the headquarters hung up on me, I even asked the second one to please call me back if we're hung up on and no call back. My 1 night stay is 6 days out. I just don't get it. It's all about profit, 6 days out they could have easily booked the room. I give up I'll stay at another hotel in the future.
