Marriott doesn't have any customer support! No chat support, no email address, and their phone service has "temporarily" been unavailable in Budapest, Hungary. How are we supposed to find answers to our questions if there's simply no way to contact Marriott or their (non-existent) Customer Service???!!! Is this business crumbling apart, or what?
I have visited one of there hotels in Charlotte NC 28204 Le Méridien Charlotte and my hotel stay was a disaster the front desk representatives treated me and my husband extremely horrible the rudeness . My hotel room amenities wasn’t in there at the time of stay. We had to buy cooler to store my medicine me and my husband can’t even sleep in the bed together. We were expected to receive a king size bed. We had to wait a couple hours before our room was ready which was told to us that it was ready before upon arrival. We had to check in leave come back two hours and wait and Jennifer told me that that it was ready and I asked her why did Ashley Give us a call as stated when I checked out the next day I spoke to Peter Cartee and he told me that they will come one night, which I have on documents at the pun of checking out. I called back after speaking to hotel tonight so I can be refunded my money. I spoke with Kim and another representative that answer the phone and said that I will be in rude and harassing employees I was only addressing the concerns that I had talking with hotel tonight that they wouldn’t come must stay. I do have all documents, including video audio, addressing my concerns And to back up any other concerns that this corporate office need I do not want to put my email address nor phone number on this review, but I have contact Attorney General Office with my concerns and if there’s anyone else that reads this that might have concerns, it need to be addressed through the Attorney General Office or the Better Business Bureau. I cannot believe this company have employees that talks to their customers the way that I have been talked to and treated management as well. I would love to receive feedback as soon as possible.
Alicia was not helpful with accessing a simple cancelation policy request from the Renaissance Hotel Downtown Philadelphia. Her response was deflective, ineffective and milquetoast.
Nice Fonts. No Backbone. After a Marriott property charged me twice for a prepaid room, denied me a manager (on a Monday), and responded a month later by implying I’d committed a moral offense by raising my voice, I escalated to Marriott Bonvoy. They responded exactly how a billion-dollar brand responds when loyalty meets liability: with a very professional non-apology, a lot of sympathetic phrases, and 25,000 Bonvoy points — roughly the value of one sad night at a highway Courtyard. They didn’t address the GM’s bizarre email. They didn’t push the hotel to follow up. They didn’t acknowledge the core issue: a guest with 25+ years of loyalty was ignored, dismissed, and then politely blamed for getting upset about it. The whole interaction felt like a well-padded fall into corporate quicksand — soft voices, clean templates, and no resolution in sight. If you ever find yourself in trouble at a Marriott property, just know: they’ll say they value you. What they won’t do is show it.
Marriott promised a 100% cage-free commitment globally by 2025. Yet in India and the global south, millions of hens remain trapped in cramped battery cages while progress happens elsewhere. Indian consumers care about animal welfare—Marriott risks its reputation by maintaining this double standard.
Beware if you book meetings at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown! I’ve planned and attended meetings at the Renaissance for nearly ten years, last year 2024, a decline in service was noticeable with Amanda Decker, as my catering contact. She was unresponsive, unprofessional, and lacks the capacity to perform the duties of her position. Amanda is the walking, living, and breathing epitome of incompetence at its finest. This year (2025) was more of the same. Dessa Forte caused unnecessary disruptions and stress by changing room assignments last-minute via email at 11pm on Saturday before the start of the Monday meeting. Meeting materials shipped and waiting at the hotel are now useless. There are some individuals I do wish to commend on their service. My interactions with them were the highlight of my stay at the Renaissance. Andrew at checkin, was warm friendly and inviting., Encore AV (Michael, Sam, Coleton) kept things running smoothly, and Thankfully, the banquet team—Ernie, Yohannes and Siti—excelled, making it a pleasure to work with them. Sherry Speaks in sales has always been consistently supportive, attentive, and professional. I met Kevin Egan during breakfast on my last day, let me tell you, this man does customer service extremely well. The catering department, however, clearly needs a complete overhaul. Great customer service and healthy relationships are critical in hospitality, and sadly, only a handful of Renaissance employees still deliver it.
I recently contacted Marriott HQ regarding a terrible stay at the Downtown Seattle Residence Inn Convention Center. If you hold status with Marriott, I would politely avoid this location. All of the employees seem stressed and frustrated. Receptionist was quite flirtatious with some members. The laundry machines are all broken and you have to wait for the maintenance man to come fix it. I came during a business stay and other colleagues in my group received Titanium Status during their stay. When I inquired about receiving status I received a beat around the bush from not just the location but also Marriott International HQ, some sympathizers but overall no one who could rectify the situation. It was impossible to get in touch with the general manager of the location. Marriott blames this situation on a system error. Despite this being a corporate stay paid for, which is outlined in their policy for not receiving status - yet others received the status. There seems to be an underlying issue here, but to receive Titanium status is a huge deal with a lot of benefits such as Silver status with United, 25% Elite Bonus Points: Members with Titanium Elite status earn a 25% bonus on the base points they earn for stays, Enhanced Room Upgrade: Complimentary room upgrades may be available, including suites, subject to availability at check-in, Welcome Gift: Titanium Elite members receive a welcome gift of points upon check-in, Guaranteed Late Checkout: Members are entitled to request a late checkout, subject to availability, Priority Late Checkout: Titanium Elite members receive a priority for late checkout requests, Exclusive Member Rates: Access to exclusive rates and promotions available only to Marriott Bonvoy members, Lounge Access: Access to the Executive Lounge at hotels that have one, where available, 48-Hour Guarantee: Reservation guarantee, ensuring a room is available if you book at least 48 hours in advance. Marriott seems adamant about not making the moment right for their guests, let alone their status members. Personally, it felt as if this could be due to my race unfortunately. Marriott's competitors do a better job at hospitality. Try another hotel!
I am so thankful to Marriott's loyalty to their customers and their support during a difficult time from a love ones passing. Looking forward to many more years of hosting events and enjoying personal relaxation at their properties!
For years I really enjoyed working with Marriott, even spent around $7k a couple years ago with them on a company retreat. Unfortunately, they no longer care to listen to the customer. I booked a room that was refundable (I know this because it was not the cheapest rate). I reached out to them once I found out they charged my card, and that I needed to cancel the reservations. Even after I told them I did not select the non-refundable amount, they argue with me and basically told me too bad. It you are looking for a company that actually cares about their customers....keep on looking because Marriott has lost their personal touch.
I was struggling to figure out if I should write a review; however, after receiving such poor service, I think this is my only recourse. I stayed at the Element International hotel in Miami (a Marriott Bonvoy hotel), and while the accommodations were fine, my experience with their customer service has been nothing short of disappointing. After inadvertently leaving my jacket in one of the rooms, I have spent several weeks attempting to retrieve it and connect with someone who could help. Unfortunately, my numerous calls to the hotel have gone unanswered, and on one occasion, a customer service representative even hung up on me. This lack of responsiveness and professionalism is unacceptable. Guests should be aware that if they leave any belongings behind, they may be at risk of never seeing them again. It is disheartening to think that items left in rooms could potentially be stolen. I hope the hotel management takes immediate steps to rectify these serious issues. If you stay here, pray that you have any issues because the management team really doesn't care after you've left their hotel. Marriott Bonvoy had such a poor response - I wouldn't stay with that company again.
