Teachers on Call was a wonderful company to work for and then Kelly Services too over and it went to crap. It used to be when the was a concern, mistake or misunderstanding. The supervisors would talk to you about it. Now, you just get suspended. You have to set up a time for a phone call with Sam Shay which could take a week and then they he never get back to you after the phone call. Sam Shay doesn't do his job and should be fired. Kelly Education/ Teachers on Call is a very unprofessional and unsupportive company.

I have 12 years under my belt with this organization and it has been mostly rewarding and fun at times. A principal at a school I worked at recently apparently didn't care for me so she fabricated a story of my falling asleep for twenty minutes in a classroom full of third graders. It was shocking to be accused of this, needless to say. I was then summarily fired. Kelly did not stand behind me whatsoever. That's the thanks I got for twelve years of service

However, reading over the reviews I now have somewhat of a concern. It appears the poor reviews started a little over a year ago. Most regarding suspensions and the poor communication trying to resolve the complaint with no other options to contact someone who can help. This does bring me concern. It appears something as small as looking at cell phone could cause a huge loss of income as well as integrity and reputation, rather than a warning for first offense. The reviews prior to a little over a year ago looked almost all reviews are positive. What changed? My personal experience this school year: I asked for a supervisor to call me back regarding questions the agent couldn't answer. The agent was rude, she should have just honored my request rather than argue with me. However many kudos to the agent who after three calls knew the issue and was able to fix the problem.

I have been working with this agency for 8 days. Then the last school I went to, I went to the front desk and asked them was there a lesson plan in the classroom. They said yes and when I went to the class there was no valid lesson plan for me. Then another teacher entered the room and I told her everything and she emailed the teacher and he responded and told her what to do. His message went to the secretary too. While she taught the class I monitored and made sure the students were doing what they were supposed to do. The next day I got suspended because that school filed a complaint on me. Two weeks later I talked to Sam Shay and told him everything about the teacher not having a valid lesson plan for me. It’s been over four weeks since I have been suspended. I emailed him and no response. One complaint from the school and you’re doomed.

I love working for teachers on call! A great company that has my best interest always. They made the process of getting my licenses very quick and easy and continue to send me updates of things I should be doing in order to better my substitute teaching experience. Would highly recommend going through them when finding the best substitute options!

I am a subbing for a school district. My experience of going through Teachers On Call has been positive. Other reviews may differ drastically, but this is my take. Starting with the application process, the On-boarding Specialists have been helpful in getting through the material, and helping me to attain my short-call license. Whenever I have a question (as I did today about an issue I had with scheduling), the employee took care of it in a matter of seconds. The employees I have spoken to are very polite, and they take care in making sure I have everything I need going forward. The calls do not bother me, and they are manageable. I schedule text alerts rather than calls (though I have enabled calls for a few days, that's what I choose), as well as an app that allows me to "Accept" positions that Teachers On Call / Frontline forwards to me.

I love teachers on call! Its alot of fun to work with a variety or different students and get to know them all. It's such a joy to be able to make an impact on children's lives! The staff are extremely nice. They are quick to respond to phone calls and emails. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I'd highly recommend them as a company!

I appreciated the opportunities Kelly Education provided and the flexibility substitute work offered. I worked in a variety of schools gave me valuable experience, and I am grateful for the many students and staff I had the privilege of working with. However, my overall experience was negatively impacted by concerns regarding compensation The pay did not always reflect the responsibilities expected of support staff. Additionally, I experienced concerns related to allegations made against me that I strongly dispute. I don't feel the matter was handled with adequate transparency or investigation, and I was asked to respond before being clearly informed of the specific concerns involved. Communication throughout the process was minimal, leaving the situation unresolved for an extended period of time (over a month now) with little clarity or follow-up. I believe Kelly Education would benefit from improving administrative communication, investigative fairness, and transparency when addressing employee concerns. While I am thankful for the opportunities I had, these experiences significantly impacted my overall impression of the organization.

Having been a classroom teacher before applying, I found the application process to be very drawn out. It took more than a month from start to finish. As someone with clean background checks and previous teaching experience, I feel a month is way too long to wait to be approved. I understand wanting to get quality teachers, but that is ridiculous. Obtaining a full time teaching position doesn't take that long! My emails were not responded to at all, or if they were, it was within a few days. I was not very impressed. Not to mention all the phone calls I received from TOC about sub jobs...even when I indicated that I did not want to receive anymore calls for the remainder of the day, I would get 20 more! I ended up not subbing at all through TOC, as I had jobs secured with other districts not through TOC and eventually secured a full-time position. It really is too bad, because as a teacher myself, I know how difficult it can be to find a good, quality substitute. Teachers On Call was not very convenient which was very disappointing as many districts in this area use their services.

I have worked with Teachers On Call for a few months now. They are extremely timely on helping with any questions you may have. They also provide many different professional development opportunities for you to grow as an educator. I would recommend to any teacher looking for substitute positions - to contact Teachers On Call for a job.
