This place doesn't feel like a local Portland vibe. It screams overpriced mall food court. Has like 5 or 6 eateries. Almost all of them are Asian food with similar dishes at each spot. Some venues take cash others don't. Service is unfriendly at most places. Space feels crowded and awkward even when 1/3 full. None of the food or bakery highlights local ingredients or Oregon, other than the influence of Asian cuisine.
Depending on when you go the place can be busy. If you know you want to go here you can save some time by ordering online so your food could be ready sooner. The layout is a bit different in which it's a long narrow corridor but it works
Indoor food court with a dozen options of individual food carts to select from. Mediterranean, Korean fried chicken, pub foods including a variety of beers, and deserts, etc. Both food quality and variety of menus were above average. Minimal wait times and the tables were clean, but noise levels were horrendous, and there was a cold breeze where we were sitting.
Went to the new Flock Food Hall at the Ritz Carlton on Feb 1, 2025 and some of the vendors weren't ready yet, but it's great to have another food hall in downtown Portland. To get to Flock, there are entrances from the street (not the hotel) with several signs over the sidewalk. Most of the food stalls have screens you order from, but the screens that show the menu wasn't working at all the stalls so knowing what you are ordering was not always clear. Could be a problem, or at least requiring more time, if you have dietary restrictions. Notification of food being ready (via text message) for pick up worked at one place but not another. 6 food stalls in all, and a beer purveyor with a decent amount of tables that will likely be overwhelmed at peak times. Not nearly as expansive as, say, Pine Street. Overall, though, it's great to have another indoor food hall so I'm looking forward to going back and hopefully they've worked through some of the issues.
The Mexican place had the best veggie burrito I have ever tasted. The worker was so kind and helpful. The drinks were also very good.
We had great tacos here. They were very tasty. The options at Flock are impressive. You can get anything here.
The Flock is a really cool place of several different cuisines and chefs under the same roof. HK Bistro was delicious! We had the pork belly with rice and veggies. Highly recommend.
Flock is a nice clean space to eat and drink. Great variety of quality asian food. Great spot for al fresco dining on a summer evening. The prices are quite high, with good service and ample seating indoors.
Maybe a nice place to get a super quick bite but feels more like a cafeteria, not a place to hang out with friends and have lunch. The dumplings were cold and we love HK Café in SE. Birria was closed. Overall the tables and lights don't make you feel cozy and like you want to spend a lot of time there. Service was friendly.
I can't believe I paid $8 to park next to this and have this bad of an experience. Really not great. I expect only hotel patrons will enjoy this. Food was pretty awful and bland, terrible seating and atmosphere. Pine Street is about 10x better and cheaper. They should bulldoze this and bring back the original local carts and not food chains masquerading as unique and quirky carts.
