As an adult learner pursing an advanced degree I enrolled in Capella University with a great deal of apprehension. I was greeted by an enrollment counselor who assisted with my enrollment process and it was an outstanding experience. Every step of the way the faculty was supportive and wanted all students to be successful. My doctoral project mentor was absolutely amazing and provided the support necessary every step of the way for my success. The collaboration with other professionals through the program helped to develop friendships beyond school, some of us were able to meet at graduation. The graduation ceremonies and activities were outstanding and the highest quality. My experience with Capella University was memorable and has allowed me to achieve my life long goal of both teaching and nursing. An outstanding educational program.
I absolutely LOVE Capella! I got my BA from a brick and mortar University, so attending an online school was a shade intimidating. The transition began with problems getting everything from my BA college. The enrollment counselor helped resolve the issue and I completed my MS in 2015. I have continued with Capella for my PhD and the experience remains the same. Everyone has been helpful, understanding and simply, AMAZING! There were two professors that I thought were not up to what I have experienced there, but all schools have a few faculty members that don't quite seem to be on the same page. I highly recommend Capella! I am thru the coursework for my doctorate and will soon be writing my dissertation. I could not have done it without the school, the faculty or everyone I've encountered at Capella!
I sent through application for a "discount " because of my employer, however it was never applied now being told that I can file a complaint but still responsible for addl 1k. I have had so many "academic coaches" that I really didn't know how to resolve things. Im withdrawing immediately. Also no real communication when applying for practicum preceptors. Applied months ago....still dont know what I did wrong.
They will register you for classes without your permission, when you call them out they will try and keep the refund. FAFSA doesn't care so the school gets away with it. I won't be shocked if another class action is taken out on this school.
I was looking at several schools for my Master's degree and when I sat down with a professor from my Undergrad studies, Capella was the best option for me. We compared several schools and Capella's Clinical Psychology program was one of the best. I have had nothing but a wonderful experience at Capella and all the staff members I have come into contact with have been awesome. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review was recently I contacted my advising team regarding comparing my classes with South Carolina's required classes for licensure requirements and I have yet to hear back. It has been over a week since I submitted my email. I would highly recommend Capella to anyone looking to forward their education.

I am a Doctor of Philosophy recipient from the Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Science; Counseling Studies at Capella University and will be attending my graduation commencement ceremony in March 2016. Capella University is an awesome school for those who are dedicated to their learning experience and are willing to work hard for their degree. Online schooling is not for everyone. It requires a lot of time and dedication, however the professors at Capella are ready and willing to assist you through your journey. They have specialized knowledge and experience in the course of study they teach. I am very satisfied with my Capella experience. I would and have recommended them to other learners.
I graduate in June and I have had an amazing experience! I've also had some really amazing and impactful professors, especially at residency! It has truly been an honor and blessing to have been accepted here! I can't wait to start my PsyD in Clinical Psychology next!
Zero Stars! I got very sick in my first semester. I emailed the professor of the class I was taking and asked for an extension. She didn't even have the decency to respond. Totally ignored me! And then gave me a failing grade. I was really sick and the academic advisor knew this. Don't waste your time with this school.
Went to Capella for a year back in 04, and have since done short stints at various other schools for "need to know" things (though I should have been compiling certifications over the years instead). Currently trying to combine all my credits into a general BA and getting someone who has any kind of sense at all on the phone to get aligned and enrolled is seriously making me rethink doing this. I can't even describe the kinds of conversations I've been having.. Not sure this is the best route.. Perhaps there are other schools.
