ACME Markets

There is an old man by the name of John, who works stocking the aisles. He is incredibly profane, unwelcoming and unprofessional. This Behavior was then supported by his coworkers. There are MANY grocery stores and pharmacies in the area. I would not recommend this particular store to anyone.

A joke! If your rich and don't ask how much something is before buying! Then welcome to the tiffanies of food shopping folks! The best part it's sad to say I would have rather kept the superfresh! Well shop on folks hope u enjoyed my review! And enjoy yourses😜👌☝️

As a neighborhood grocery store, it can't be beat. The vibe and convenience of a bodega but the benefit of full service grocery. It isn't as large as other Acmes, like that on South or Girard, so if you're driving, may as well go to the larger locations. But if you're in the neighborhood, nothing beats the convenience.

It's right around the corner from my apartment, so it's by far the closest for groceries, and it has just about everything you could need. Not everything (no frozen edamame, for instance, or steel-cut oatmeal) but almost all the basics are available. Just not much of it. And things don't seem to get restocked very quickly. There is a small adjacent parking lot.

Ordered a cake from the bakery and the artist, Emily, was incredibly helpful and really cared about making it right. She did an amazing job recreating the UPenn logo by hand. Oh, and the cake was delicious too.

I don't like to view myself as handicapped. My right arm was amputated a couple of inches below my elbow. One of the results of being hit by a drunk driver. I bought more than I could manage. I asked management if I could purchase the 3 cases of water on sale and come back for each. Bob a fellow who works for ACME rallied with the result being; Bob allowed the kindest young lady, Armyni to push the shopping cart filled with 3 24 packs of water as well as everything else I had purchased a block and a half to my home. Not only did Armyni push the cart, when we arrived to my home she was already unloading the water into the vestibule. The reason why I went into such detail is because never once has anyone at ACME made me feel less than. People are generally looking at the bad experience that happened 1 time instead of viewing the employees as people who have feelings. Everyone from upper management to the bagger has been so kind to me just because they are kind people by nature. Thank you Bob, Armyni, Angela, the young man at the deli who always makes me smile, the 2nd shift produce man who went out of his way to bring a cart with grapes for me to choose from instead of looking the other way. I have never had a bad experience with anyone who works in this particular store. I am at a loss for a way to thank everyone. I am hoping this gets back to them just to make them feel the way they make me feel. Leaving the grocery store with a smile says more than I can say to them. Thank you for taking the time to tell you how good it feels to have pleasant people around the store from beginning to leaving.

Hard to believe this Acme is worse than the SuperFresh it replaces. No renovation with the takeover, just brighter lighting and new branding. I normally wait a little while to review, but I've been to this Acme a few times since it opened, and they are fully stocked - so there's no excuse for eliminating virtually ALL of the vegan/vegetarian products SuperFresh used to carry. Seriously do the executives at Acme heat vegans? No more Boca Burgers, Tofurkey, etc. Just tofu, and that lame "Go Veggie!" fake cheese that's not even vegan. The produce section sucks and as for frozen veggies? Terrible selection. I can't even find a bag of stir-fry veggies anymore. Prices are higher than Superfresh, and the employees all seem to not care or have basic common sense. Twice now I've paid for things that came to a total such as $11.73 so I'd hand over $21.73 to get a $10 back and I was given a confused stare, and then handed my $1.73 back. Awful experience. Hope they get their act together. Only shopping here if I have to.

This place is a joke. The produce is wilted and old and there's a lousy selection. All the meat is packaged for families, so if you're a Singleton you can't go in there and just buy a small amount. The one good thing I can say is that the people at the deli counter are usually real sweethearts!

This store has been recently remodeled and it looks amazing. I was shocked because it didn't even look like the same place. It has amaydeals and the the new deli counter has great options. The place is very clean.

Convenience is the only thing going for this terrible market. Aisles are crowded or blocked, vegetables frequently already turned and ridiculously oversized shopping carts (when available). ACME should come in and clean house.
