It was my attempt to be screened by Maggie White for services . Instead two of the female receptionists over the phone wanted to belittle me over clarifying my patient status : New / established. I’m very familiar with medical billing and I had no idea why the two young ladies decided to be rude . Telling me “ time is ticking ” while trying to address my concerns. It was 2 hours back and forth of them hanging up in my face and refusing to answer the phone . I will obtain services elsewhere . It was a very stressful and a strange encounter from two receptionists who refused to identify themselves and talk over me as a future patient provided them my PHI over the phone . The interaction felt very unsafe .
Just moved to Houston and needed a primary doctor. Dr. Carrol made me feel very comfortable and welcomed being my new PCP! The office staff was very pleasant as well. 10/10! Highly recommend.
I struggled to find a PCP 2 years ago when i first moved here and I was finally happy to find this place. The Medical Assistants are great and I love Maggie my PCP as well. I never wait long and they are very accommodating!
Maggie, Israel and the her direct staff and the location is great! BUT THE ONE DOWNFALL is one employee with a horrible attitude, over the phone and in person, the way he speaks to you is very much belittling, abrasive, and rude. There were 5 other people that were in the lobby and a few walk ins and he spoke in the same very tone to everyone. He is a reason I wouldn’t give this place a 5. He is a big downfall for the facility. Meanwhile he spoke very loudly in the lobby enough where everyone in the lobby is able to hear all personal details. When he was not a patient you just hear him gossiping and chattering. I did not catch his name, he the bald, African American male, typically at the receptionist desk. Besides him everything there is perfection. So happy this location is available.
The doctor was great, the rest was horrible. The doctor/reception miscoded the visit for insurance and then refused to change it asking that I find the code and let them know so they could change it. eventually , it was just easy to pay the two hundred dollars and be done. Phone calls never got returned., it was not a great experience or even a good one. I wish it had been better as I really liked the doctor, she was clearly very smart and had expertise that I could have benefitted from but the hassel and expense was just not worth it
Today wellness bar by Legacy only gets three stars in my review. That is because they have decreased their level of service much to my chagrin. Dr. Carroll does a fabulous job along with his staff of talented and polite people. The problem is now they have routed the switchboard through the California Street location and the level of service has suffered and the delays have increased; my patience suffers. I’m not going to wait two hours for someone at the wellness bar to call me back when previously I could speak to somebody the first time I called. Moreover, I do not want to participate in the cattle car that is on California Street. Robert Palossek please make some changes.
The fact that I was asked for 80$ and how am I paying before my appointment is sad. The older black woman in the front desk is rude and could care less what I was there for. Houston is bad business when it comes to CARE. Its all about money in this city and not caring for patients.
Very interesting place. I went to the one off of westheimer. I called prior to and they said this location would be busy, the bald man answered the phone. I came regardless and there was no one there but me and the workers. The bald male worker asked me loudly what I was there for, no confidentiality. I answered with the same energy. I signed in. The woman receptionist is hesitant to answer the phone. She grimaces when it rings and they share a laugh. They’re practicing Spanish at the front desk which is helpful because we could all be bilingual. I’m called back after an hour and a half. The rapid test went fast. The coffee is great so get you some and a few of the staff members are nice but there’s two people, a woman with brown short hair and a bald man, that are rude and just like to stand around and gossip. Just don’t talk to them. And don’t come early I guess, they seem to not like that…go figure.
Going to the wellness clinic in Montrose definitely fits my style. I feel so comfortable going in and being transgender. I am so comfortable there. They are wonderful.
Most welcoming and interactive experience I have had a doctor's office. Most hospitals or clinics speak to you or ask you questions like you're a statistic. I didn't feel that at all at this place. Everyone was reliable and kind.
