My first time in Waterbird coffee today. My experience was pleasant. While I didn’t get any food, the hot mocha latte was delicious and presented visually appealing. (Photo included.) It was a nice atmosphere, for chatting and hanging out with friends, however, I wouldn’t choose this shop if I wanted to kick back and relax while reading a book. The wall decor is nice to check out as well. I wouldn’t choose certainly recommended this place.
Came in just looking for a quick coffee and ended up staying longer than I planned. The coffee actually tastes like they care smooth, not burnt, and properly balanced. The place isn’t trying too hard, which I liked just a calm, easy environment where you can sit without feeling rushed. Staff were normal and polite, not over the top. It feels genuine, and that’s rare now. I’d come back for sure.
Small shop. Latte was good and flavorful. There were tasty looking pastries. I didnt get to try but friends enjoyed the homemade poptart!
The coffee here is amazing and surprisingly cheap. The quality definitely overrides the price. This is some of the best coffee I've ever had. I tried multiple places for coffee in downtown Kansas City MO. This was absolutely the best.
I mean I have to leave a review. It’s about 10am on a Thursday morning. I walked to this place from nearby and the lights are off the doors are shut and locked. No sign on the business with an explanation or anything. A ghost town. I had my tastebuds ready for some of the pictures I’ve seen in reviews but this is what I was met with.
Cute and intimate coffee shop. The barista was super kind and quickly made our drinks, complete with a foam design. Perfect for dreary and misty walk back to the hotel. The blueberry muffin, and blueberry and cranberry scone were enjoyed by all!
Love Waterbird. The espresso is delicious. I have yet to be disappointed by any of the baked goods! Favorite pairing so far is an Americano with any blueberry goodie! Vibes are awesome and barista Brian is the mvp.

Waterbird coffee encompasses a wide range of important parts of the coffee culture. I have been in and around the coffee community throughout Kansas City for years. The owners truly have a strong sense of discipline towards great coffee while holding a humble attitude and are driving their own personality and signature to how they do it. It’s nice to see a coffee shop that knows the ropes of what the demographic of people are looking for out of coffee and at the same time maintaining a strong diligence on how to serve our community. Down to earth, easy to talk to talk to, and wonderful coffee I am looking forward to seeing how their driving sense of passion and love to serve others in the community develops over the years. If you are from Kansas City or dropping in from out of town; this coffee shop holds a strong integrity to provide anyone and everyone that walks through the doors to have an experience worth remembering. Let their espresso do the talking and enjoy the faces behind this coffee, because it truly is one of a kind, from the environment to the last drop of espresso, this shop has its heart and coffee in the right place. Worth a visit.
Went in for the first time the other day, I has a mocha latte and a couple of the peanut butter protein balls and I have to say everything was delicious and not to pricey. I don't usually go to coffee shops because I don't drink coffee but when I'm in the mood for a latte I'll definitely be choosing this place to get it
