Coffee people.. it’s perfect. One of the best cortados I’ve ever had, super chill. Your drink will not be rushed and the beans are fresh.
I have been to over 20 coffee shops in the KC area and Waterbird may have the best latte. Perfect for my walk to work and I enjoy catching up with the owner Brian if they’re not too busy.
Neat, eclectic spot. Drip coffee was aight, and the ham and cheese croissant was too.
We walked about 10 minutes to get here because it was the highest-rated coffee spot nearby and it was absolutely worth the walk. The coffee was fantastic, the blueberry scones were delicious, and there were so many tempting options it was hard to choose just one. A special shout-out to the barista who kindly remade my friend’s coffee after he accidentally spilled it — such great service and hospitality. We’re visiting from Indiana for a pickleball conference, and this was the perfect way to start the day in downtown KC. Highly recommend!

Waterbird was great! The staff was very welcoming and the drinks were really good. The location is in a cool spot downtown and the interior has a good amount of seating. I recommend the brown sugar, cinnamon latte - it was fire! 🔥
Cute interior, very simplistic and the staff is very nice. It's just a little dull in there however but, I don't think it's a bad thing. A breath of fresh air.
The first of my three coffee shop stops in KC, Waterbird truly set the bar high for the rest of my trip. We chose this particular shop due to the high reviews and the easy location as it is right in the heart of downtown and right by T-Mobile Center. I got an iced apple latte (seasonal) and absolutely loved it! Huge props to the owners for allowing alternative milk options for free!
