Garbage company. Thanks blue cross!
So much easier to go through at physician then to try to deal with you all
Unwanted very pushy phone calls. Asking personal info about family members
I loved using this app. It helped me a lot with keeping up with my day to day stuff.
Terrible to say the least terrible nutritionalists
Potential HIPAA violation: My first telehealth appointment with a Vida Health physician was conducted from a restaurant- a Waffle House. I could hear music in the background, waiters setting tables and talking about the food with other people, and other customers' conversations while we discussed my private medical history and verified my identity. I'm seriously concerned my confidential health information could have been overheard or seen on the physician's screen, which made me question Vida Health's commitment to patient privacy. That was only the beginning. My employer requires me to use Vida Health before approving a GLP-1 medication for my sleep apnea, even though two of my physicians recommended it specifically for that - not weight loss. I was told I'd have to spend about 90 days meeting with a doctor and dietitian and trying multiple medications first. The physician told me I needed to understand from the insurance perspective and even though she Admitted the medication she was about to put me on had nothing to do with my diagnosis that was the path that she was requiring me to go down. Instead of treating my sleep apnea, I was prescribed medications for other conditions nothing having to do with sleep apnea. For one, the doctor told me before prescribing it that I should carry a change of clothes because accidents were going to happen. Another was primarily a seizure medication with significant side effects. When I explained that my own physician wanted to pursue the GLP-1 directly, I was told there was "no way" to get it without going through Vida's process. After months of appointments and weekly dietitian meetings, I was nearing the end when I learned my doctor no longer worked there. I was handed off to a new provider who now decides what additional hoops I have to jump through. The whole experience felt like checking boxes, not getting care. It never felt focused on treating my sleep apnea. To make matters worse, I was told I could skip insurance entirely and get the medication with a coupon for about $500 a month out of pocket, which left me wondering who this process is actually designed to help. Between the privacy concerns, the medication side effects, the constant hurdles, and having my provider swapped at the very end, I can't recommend Vida Health - they are gatekeepers to protect the pockets of those who have to pay out. For the prescriptions. If you don’t go through all the steps, you don’t get the services. I think the odds are in the favor that many people drop out before they get through the process. Healthcare shouldn’t be this difficult.
I am writing to formally report concerns regarding my visit with Barbara Grubbs on March 11, 2026. During this appointment, my first impression was that the provider appeared unprofessional and unprepared. Her appearance and demeanor gave the impression that she had not taken the time to present herself in a professional manner. Additionally, she was not friendly, and her bedside manner did not feel welcoming or supportive. During the visit, she requested that I complete laboratory work. I asked a simple clarifying question about whether I needed to print the lab orders from the app and bring them with me. She asked me to repeat my question three times and then dismissed what I said, only to respond by restating exactly what I had originally asked. I also informed her that I have been on a GLP-1 medication since January 2024. She told me that she would need documentation showing when the medication was first prescribed, along with my height and weight. I have since provided both of these documents as requested. Despite providing the requested information, she has now refused to refill my prescription. Whether I am considered grandfathered in or not, I still meet the clinical criteria for the medication. I have also asked her multiple times to provide the specific criteria or guidelines being used to deny my refill request, but my messages have gone unanswered. Due to the lack of communication and the unprofessional nature of this interaction, I am submitting this as a formal complaint. If this issue cannot be resolved, I will also be filing a report with the California Medical Board regarding this matter. I would appreciate a prompt response and clarification regarding the criteria being used and the reason my prescription refill is being denied.
I was pushed into using Vida Health by my employer/BCBS of North Dakota, and told this was the only way to get my already-prescribed GLP-1 medication covered. It quickly became clear their real goal is to avoid prescribing anything at all. They stall constantly — canceling appointments and rescheduling them months out, only to cancel again. They switch you between programs and then pause your account "for review." I even had to have my own doctor write a letter to explain basic health information to them, information I'm confident they already understood and were feigning ignorance about, hoping I'd eventually give up. After dealing with all of this, I looked into what Vida Health actually is. From what I can tell, it exists to act as a barrier between patients, their doctors, and their medication — allowing BCBS and other insurers to reduce the number of GLP-1 prescriptions they actually pay for, while still technically being able to claim the medication is "covered." It hasn't worked. If anything, it's made me more determined to push through every roadblock they put up. Wish me luck. Response to vida Response - My insurance only covers GLP1 prescribed by Vida TelaDoctors. So the decision as to if I get my medication is up to a Vida employee who in my opinion appears incentivised to not prescribe me the GLP1. -Most common opinion on reddit is follows: -While there are many of these third-party companies required by insurance, Vida is particularly notorious. They’re ultimate goal — and they don’t attempt to hide this — is to get you off whatever GLP-1 you’re on or trying to start.-
So So stupid. Don’t even bother. American healthcare system at its finest. Such a scam. If u need a glp one of any kind they will not give it to you period. Just pay out of pocket. You have all these fake dietitian people you meet over the phone and it’s so stupid. Don’t say U have struggled with any time of eating issues in the past because they will use it against you to never give u a GlP1. They canceled my program because “i needed help for an eating disorder”. give me a break.
Horrendous money scam of a company. I have been using Vida since January and have had 6 different doctors because the Doctors keep ending their contracts with Vida because Vida is awful on their end as well. My insurance required me to use Vida to get my medication, but the second I switched insurance I couldn’t WAIT to end my profile with Vida. They could not care less about you and they made that very clear when I missed weeks of my medication multiple times over 6 months because they couldn’t communicate effectively internally and take sometimes weeks to respond to you. EVEN after I explained to them that I have serious medical conditions that make me insulin resistant and need consistency with my meds. When I mentioned the issues I have been facing they closed my support ticket without responding or resolving it and then got an attitude with me when I asked for someone to help. DONT. USE. VIDA.
