This place is legit. I’ve been 2-3 times but each time I walked out thinking “why don’t I go here more?”. Clearly a very strong baking program (bread and pastries are awesome). And the sandwiches are really well done. The cacio e Pepe chicken sandwich (you read that right), is phenomenal. Great coffee too. The indoor space and ambiance isn’t great IMO but I wouldn’t let it stop you from enjoying what they offer.
I’ve been here twice now. I work in the Medical Dental Building—and it’s on the Taylor Street side (kind of hidden). This new gourmet deli/cafe is a little gem. It’s affiliated/owner by the friendly folks who run The Daily Feast. The deli items I got—marinated beets, roasted veggies were good. The bread is awesome! And they make it themselves. You can quickly grab a snack, cold beverage or an espresso drink.

Food is delicious and healthy. Don’t sleep on the soups . Staff is very nice
I got the soup and salad for $11 and it was definitely worth it. They had a delicious soup that was gluten-free and dairy-free. The salad i had was a beet, goat cheese, walnut, arugula salad with balsamic vinegar. Both were tasty and I would eat it again.
The food is excellent! A great place for lunch if you are in downtown Portland. They have soups, salads and sandwiches. Save room for dessert.
I’ve been coming to Taylor Street Kitchen for lunch every couple of weeks, and they’ve never disappointed. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and very high quality! Recently, they went above and beyond. I had a last-minute lunch order for my company that was unexpectedly canceled by another restaurant through DoorDash. With only 45 minutes before the meeting, I called Taylor Street Kitchen to see if they could help. Not only did they take the order for 12 sandwiches on short notice, but they had everything ready for pickup within 15 minutes. They were incredibly responsive and helpful, and they truly saved the day!
The most interesting vegetable dishes I've ever seen. But both the menu and the seating are a little too limited for regular visits.
I popped in today for a late lunch and was so pleased with the tuna salad sandwich!! it was everything I could ever want (and more!) - capers, greens, mama lil's peppers! and the bread it was on was wonderfully salty and a little oily too (but not too much so!). I also grabbed two matchas for my partner and I. I loved the assortment of syrups available and also the cute to-go cups. the matcha itself was the perfect balance of milky and matcha-y although I think I might ask for slightly less syrup in mine next time. overall a really positive experience and I will definitely be back! it was the perfect treat after a busy morning.
