Philadelphia Java Company is a beloved coffee shop in the heart of Philly. Located at S 2nd St, it’s a local favorite. Known for its friendly staff and fantastic coffee, it’s a cozy spot for a caffeine fix. With a good selection of pastries and vegan options, it’s open daily and the go-to place for a quick, delicious bite and a warm cup of java.

This is a very cute cafe and has good food. However, the coffee is quite bad. They use La Colombe beans but somehow the coffee always tastes burnt. I really wish it were better, because then I would frequent this cafe

A lovely comfortable place for coffee, breakfast and lunch! A neighborhood Mecca, family owned and run. Since their opening they have improved Queen Village tremendously. This is a business that runs on love. I cannot say enough good things about it!

This coffee shop makes a truly amazing chai tea latte. All of the staff are friendly and they have had regular hours despite all of the covid restrictions due to their walk up window. Coffee and sandwiches are also good!

I like this place. It's a cozy neighborhood coffee joint. The coffee is good. There a decent sandwiches and baked goods available. Seems like there are fun locals who haunt the place and give it a good vibe.

Ditto what the poster before me said (I love this place). A real cafe, with patrons actually carrying out conversations or reading. Plus great coffee and service!

Philly Java Death Cult Coffe is the best! Great food ! Great drinks! Major problem with the atmosphere unless you’re a mummy, necropheliac or you sleep in a coffin like the rest of the crypt keepers who haunt this morbid hall, this time-released dirty bomb where it seems no one recovered from covid. The dull eyed boys who work here are a blessing when confronted with the sad puckered and wrinkled lips of either owner. I’ll make pour overs at home like anyone else with life in their veins. Thanks for reading.

A great place for coffee and treats. Outdoor seating is plentiful. Vegan options available (non-dairy milk options as well as food). The owners and staff are amazing!

Our regular, go-to coffee shop. After visiting Italy for the first time a few years ago, this place was the only one in the neighborhood with coffee to satisfy our new-found taste. The owners are very warm and friendly and are often seen sitting down to chat and catch up with the regular customers (who often also become their friends). The food is also wonderful. In addition to danish, croissant, and apple cider donuts (plus some vegan baked goods) they have hot oatmeal and some very tasty middle-eastern inspired items such as labneh (thick yoghurt spread on a slide of bread), and my own favorite the "eggel" (hard boiled egg slices and cheese on a toasted bagel with zaatar). They have outdoor seating and a weekly trivia question posted to the blackboard just for grins.

I like this place, but it's really hit-and-miss. Pastries are great when theyre fresh, but they definitely keep them in there longer than they ought to at times. My go-to drinks are an iced mocha and a cortado. Their iced mocha is pretty good. Ordered a cortado there the other day, was served what appeared to just be a small cappuccino (about a half-inch of foam on top). Asked for it without all the foam, and when they called out my order it was for a "no-foam cortado," which makes me think that they just normally serve a cortado this way. Anyway, nice enough people, but there are better options for great coffee in the area.
