Love the idea and the aesthetics of the locations I've gone to, but like a lot of other reviewers have stated, the beer is just too expensive. Worth it to go for a round, or maybe two, and then go somewhere else. They could at least throw us a bone and have happy hour specials.
I was super excited about Parks On Tap, but after two negative experiences I can't look past the hypocrisy anymore. Parks On Tap claims to support the parks and the outdoors, yet insists on using single-use plastic cups rather than filling personal, reusable cups. They claim this is because of health code yet simultaneously don't have running water. This is against health code. The workers can't wash their hands (ew), but also - conveniently - have to charge customers for bottled water, again insisting on single-use plastic. It's really a shame how they're using lofty ideals to swindle people and further hurt our parks and environment by creating plastic waste which injures our parks.
Loved my first time at Parks on Tap, but was a little dismayed that in order to get in I had to scan a QR code and register for an email and then show that I signed up. I said: so you can't get in unless you have a smartphone? The guy at the door said: yup, basically. Shouldn't this be available to anybody who is of drinking age and has disposable cash to buy some drinks/food? Seems prohibitive and moderately illegal. I'll be unsubscribing as soon as I get those marketing emails.
Fun to be outdoors and order drinks, but we’ve wasted too much money on the food which is overpriced and not good! We got the “pretzel” which was awful dry and like a little loaf of bread. Come on it’s Philly guys! The kielbasa plate was just terrible dry kielbasa slices thrown on plate with quite a few slices of dry bread 😞 and a weird mustard sauce. The brisket sandwich was all bread with the tiniest bit of brisket, the smoked mozzarella salad was tiny and only had literally 2 very small (like a little bigger than a marble) mozzarella balls cut in half dispersed throughout the salad. I counted them bc I was giving them to my toddler and kept looking for more... Get better food guys it’s clear we all want it!
