I’ve been going in this coffee place for a hot minute now (a couple of years at least) and in those times, the Moroccan latte has been the king of lattes here in Portland, at least in my own opinion. I took out 1 star for the service because not everyone is consistent. The weekend crew is almost always nice, but the rest leaves something to be desired. Also, one of the owners (I think, tall lighter skin, and bald) kinda gives me the ick? I don’t really know why, but I saw him talking to one of the workers and the way he was looking at her seemed off. Yes, I’m biased as I’m also a woman, where we are trained to be suspicious and wary of men because of our own personal experiences, besides that though, why are all the women workers of a similar age group, and ALL of them share similar physical attributes? Most of them are white girls but the two Asian girls I saw have the same “look”. About 5’4 to 5’6, leaner frames, small oval shaped faces, longish hair, narrow noses, higher cheekbones and nice smiles. Almost like a “type”. They did have one token white boy that I saw once, and that was very recent. I’ve been back about 3 times at different days and different times but I haven’t seen him since again. Oh well, the place is great and I do recommend it, having said that, I needed to write down here what I said though. Here’s to hoping everything here is indeed, fine.
Moroccan coffee was fun, drip coffee was watered down and stale
The customer service is excellent, same with the location. There is a park nearby and parking isn’t too difficult. The food menu is inclusive and there are gluten free options and a ton of coffee and teas. I love that they use cold brew for cold drinks but the coffee was kind of weak flavor, it could have had a lot more punch or caffeine. It was rather milky but had nice flavor. Maybe the teas are better, when I try again. The areas of improvement would be the ambiance, it’s not a very comfortable table to work from, the chair and table design feels overfilled. One or two tables being removed might make the flow better. As mentioned before, stronger coffee drinks. Other than that it was pretty good!
The food and drinks here are SO GOOD! My daughter wanted to come here for her birthday and they gave her a free drink, which was really cool. Their egg salad sandwich is my absolute favorite.
My sister recommended this spot as they have special offerings with the moroccan spiced drinks, which is unique as I've never been to a spot that had them! - PARKING - Street parking from what I heard! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - My sister picked up the drinks so I'm not too sure on the environment - however, they did come back fairly quick so I think the service is fast and efficient! - DRINK - Moroccan Spiced Latte: I decided to try the plainest option to get a taste of the Moroccan spices - it was an interesting mix of flavors but I enjoyed it thoroughly! - OVERALL - Unique choices of Moroccan spiced drinks, but also other tea options can be ordered here. Glad I got to try this out during our Portland visit!
Their pistachio latte was so delicious. Friendly baristas and a warm atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back soon!
I had a delicious mocha and enjoyed the looking at the Fremont Bridge and the Fields Park. Also, had a filling caprese panini.
My smoothie was excellent (and I'm pretty picky).
This place was recommended to me so I gave it a try. Specifically the nus nus was recommended because of the flavor of the coffee and the spices. The coffee was fruity and dark but lacked anything of note to set it apart from just a cup of coffee. The drink was $4 for less than 6 oz. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. The location is convenient for those living in the east Pearl but a bit of a hike for others. Parking is paid street parking, which was limited. I had high hopes for this place and may try them again some day.
The bungee chairs are really comfortable and, if you're like me and need a place to study, they have a nice nook to sequester in. The people there were friendly and the green matcha tea with Moroccan seasonings was delightful!
