I have used a lot of bankruptcy software and this is by far the best. Obvious thought went into ease of use and faster entry. The staff has been great and fact that this works on any browsers is what I have been waiting for!!
I signed a one year contract but only used the software for 3 months. Price is comparable to other vendors but the actual software is very cumbersome. After utilizing Bestcase for 10+ years, tried Nextchapter because it had some nice features (text reminders to clients, time-tracking, calendar) but the actual drafting of forms was very difficult, not intuitive and made it difficult to catch errors. Even after allowing for time to adjust to the software, the lost time was just not worth it. In addition, the final product (legibility of the forms) is terrible.
A little less than a year ago, I switched from a software based program to prepare bankruptcy petitions, to the internet based system offered by the folks at Next Chapter. I really like it. The programing has been well thought out, and seems to be continually refined. A web based system essentially allows you to work on bankruptcy matters from any place that you can access a good internet connection, perhaps the client's home, your office, your home, or a good coffee shop. I switched from my old software and I am very happy I did. I had an older employee who did not like change, and now he swears by the program. If you are an attorney considering switching, it works and it works well. There are a few areas that could use improvement, which is true with any cloud-based software.
We've had a great experience with NextChapter and their customer service. I found the software easy to navigate and the extra touches are really nice. Recommended.
Been using Bestcase for years. Nextchapter incredibly un-intuitive for completing. When move file to send to attorney, client can no longer add information. Means test can't just input figures, more complicated for income/expenses. Have to pay extra for any support other than delayed chat, no support at all on weekends. Does not remember social security numbers, have to put in repeatedly to file/run credit reports increasing risk of mistakes. Does not assume correct exemption, have to search through list. Cannot list 100% exempt without first putting another number in, then changing later in program.
Love 'em. I'm an attorney based in ND Cal, and have filed in ND Cal and CD Cal over the past 15 years. They've great LBR documents, the program does what it is supposed to do, the chat box for help is fabulous, the employees always helpful and quick to respond, and they've great tutorials. I feel like they care about their customers and their customers' clients.
I've reviewed and Edited and Reviewed again but I can not say enough about the tremendous help that NextChapter provides when an question arises. I am always promptly answered when I send a quick message. Kelly has been OUTSTANDING in answering all questions and concerns. I truly appreciate her promptness and direction. Pleased with the decision to switch to NextChapter. :)
