Stopped at this place for a late dinner after arriving in Jacksonville. I really didn't know what to expect as this was my first time visiting a Newk's and I was more than pleased with my experience. The restaurant was immaculate inside and out and the service was superb. I ordered a turkey sandwich with the pasta side salad and was served within 5 minutes of placing my order. The sandwich packed great flavor with the fresh ingredients and the toasted bun was the coup de grace. A very solid, well made and presented sandwich. The pasta side salad was a little bland, but it complemented my sandwich well. The portions were average, but still satisfying and the prices weren't egregious in comparison to the portion size. I'll definitely stop here again and try out more of the menu as they seem to have a very good variety of dishes for any palate and offer a nice, comfortable atmosphere.
Loved our visit to Newk’s, as usual. Sad to hear the slaw is gone, but the soup was an excellent choice. My Italian sub didn’t disappoint! You can always count on a consistently great experience here, both food and service. We will be coming back!
I rarely get the opportunity to leave the office for a sit-down lunch, but whenever I do, I go to Newk's. The service is exceptional; I feel like I know everyone who works there personally, and the food is just as good. I've noticed the same folks working there since I started dining in over two years ago, so management must be equally fantastic. If you're looking for a fast-casual lunch or dinner spot, I couldn't recommend it more. It'll be the best sandwich you get for the price, and you'll leave full and happy - guaranteed.
Newks is usually pretty decent. This location is however consistently sub par to the other two in town. Pasta salad was mushy old tasting. No one at the counter when I walked in to order had to look around. Italian sandwich barely had any dressing.
I have only been here once but I must say that I was relatively impressed. Ordered online and drove over and parked out front, walked in and my food was almost ready. It was quite delicious considering.
Nice casual spot for a quick bite. The pizzas are 9 to 10 inches wide. We ordered the Mediterranean pizza, pepperoni pizza, spicy shrimp pizza, and the black&Bleu salad, and a fruit bowl. We dined in for a late 3pm lunch. The fountain drink station was clean, and so were the bathrooms. We like how they have that extra sink outside the bathrooms, so you can just wash your hands there if that's all you need to do, which is nice when you have kids.
I normally do not do this but this has been eating away at me for hours. I went today and got a sandwich with chips and while I was there the lady whom I was told was the general manager was absolutely horrific. She was yelling at this poor other girl who was short and heavy set and almost had her in tears. I have never in my 38 years seen someone being treated so poorly. I do not care what anyone does they do not deserve that. The atmosphere was horrible and you could feel the tension. I could not wait to get my food and get away to never ever return. You could not pay me 6 figures to return to the atmosphere let alone work there. I truly feel for every employee there.
First time ive been to a newks in over 10 years. My new favorite restaurant! 1/2 a french dip, first time ive seen medium rare roast beef so damn good! My only complaint, i truly just wanted half sandwich but was told side and drink came with after id ordered it. Chose fruit salad but wasnt told it was $1 more but when i questioned it, my payment cleared while i was still on the add tip screen. Which i would have added but again payment cleared. Like i said i wasnt intrested in drink or side, and when i asked if i could just get half sanwich wasnt told it was automatically a combo meal. I will be back, and b4 i left i asked what your soups were, and was given a taste of the, lobster. That was also amazing.
I absolutely love Newk’s. From the customer service to the quality of food. I literally eat here at least twice a week because they’re so consistent and that is extremely hard to find these days. Newks club & a Caesar salad gets me right all the time !
We arrived at Newk’s Eatery with closing time still comfortably ahead of us, yet the dining room was so empty it felt as though the staff had prepared the entire restaurant for a private audience that never came. Not a soul was seated inside, so we gathered our takeout and brought the performance home, where Jess assumed her customary role as judge, jury, and merciless inspector of side dishes. The macaroni and cheese received a thoughtful nod. “It’s all right,” she said, which in Jess-language means it was actually pretty good. The potato salad tasted exactly like something scooped fresh from a grocery-store deli: familiar, dependable, and not especially interested in adventure. Then came the pasta salad. Jess took one bite and stared into the middle distance. It was bland, oily, and almost entirely without flavor, as though the ingredients had been introduced but never properly acquainted. This was the one item neither of us could defend. The Newk’s Q sandwich had good bones, but it arrived painfully dry and seemed to be searching for condiments and vegetables. Jess liked the mustard, and after we added a generous amount of mayonnaise, the sandwich improved considerably. A little more moisture and freshness would have transformed it. The French dip was perfectly respectable, though I would have preferred a better meat-to-bread ratio. The bread was winning the argument by volume. Dessert brought the caramel cake, which Jess found dry, while the breadsticks were crisp and tasted much like something from a package. They might make more sense beside a bowl of soup, where their sturdiness could be put to honest work. Overall, most of the meal was fine, and several items were genuinely enjoyable after a little assistance from the condiment drawer. The pasta salad, however, wandered into the evening wearing too much oil and no personality at all.
