When a potential client has direct questions about the services that you do and don't offer and what their options are for your services it is best to advise them earlier on in the process and not just email documents and wait on them to pay you then say that you can't assist.

I sold a home in Charlotte and the buyer chose Hoard Law for the closing. So as the seller I allowed Hoard to complete the closing documents on my side as well. That was a HUGE mistake. Closing was delayed by several days because the buyers documents were not sent in a timely manner (maybe not his fault), but it took us as the seller reaching out to him to discover this. He never once let me know of the delay. In addition when the closing actually recorded we were also not notified. It took the buyer's agent reaching out to inform us that closing recorded. And even then it took several hours and several follow up calls before our funds were actually wired. He will no doubt respond to this and claim I am not his client and that this is a false review (like all the other negative reviews he has). But if you are considering Hoard Law I urge you to reconsider

I have been using Hoard Law for several years now and love the fact that they are personable and flexible. I've had a buyer who couldn't leave work and they went to her job and closed her during her lunch, while another client couldn't leave work early and they made arrangements to stay late. I appreciate that after all I do to help my clients get to the closing table, Michael and his team will see it to the end no matter the circumstances.

I used Hoard Law on on a couple of occasions this year with fantastic results. They helped me close on the sale of my home during COVID leveraging technology to keep all parties safe and quickly filing all the legal documents required for the close. Mr Hoard also helped me resolve a credit reporting issue after months of trying on my own to get a creditor to correct an error they made on my credit report. He had it resolved in one week. My first encounter w Hoard firm was with Tamra, Legal Assistant. She has a way about her that immediately puts you at ease. Whatever your circumstance is, you won’t feel judged. Michael is very very smart; he couldn’t handle my case but he was the FIRST lawyer who told me exactly what type of attorney I needed. That information was priceless. He’s knows his area of expertise and just as importantly he knows the nuances of the law and the type of attorney you’ll need to consult with for your unique circumstance. He’ll answer your emails. Word of caution, his front office protects his time! You’ve got to go though them to get to him, it will be worth it.

My wife and I had to work with Hoard Law because the buyers of our home in a recent sale used them. At first they seemed just fine. They asked us to come in for signing all the necessary documents. We did. All was well. A couple weeks later, this group reached out about a document they forgot to include in our closing documents. They sent me an affidavit to reconcile my wife’s name change when we got married. It had to be notarized, signed and physical copy mailed into their office. This one piece of paper was sent to us weeks after closing in the storm of us both being full time employed with a new home, living in a new state, and also managing child care. We had the paper sitting on our dining room table…just needed to find the time in a busy life that isn’t ideal for getting a notarized signature before 5 pm on a weekday. Before I know it, my wife received a “friendly reminder” email from Michael Hoard that also included the threat of a law suit. Michael, shame on you. You used your position, power and name to intimidate my wife over a simple piece of paper that should have been part of our closing document package when we went out of our way to be at your office in person. A 7 day ultimatum with a law suit threat…I wonder how many other people have received your “friendly reminders”. This behavior is appalling, disgraceful, and completely unprofessional. I hope others read this and stay away from your group that apparently lacks common respect and so easily turns to fear tactics to get normal day-to-day paperwork done.

I began using the firm first professionally, but then, when things turned to personal circumstances needing their expertise as well, there was no one else that I would think of to turn too. A company that handled my clients to the best of their ability and always gave excellent service...Of course I would return to them to give me excellent service as well AND they did. I finally closed on the sale of my house. Hoard Law was the closing attorney chosen by the buyer. In my 25 years of owning multiple homes and currently owning multiple rental properties, I have never had a firm with such “poor” communications with their clients. For the novice buyer or seller this is not the firm for you! The firm in my opinion was insensitive to the clients and real estate brokers. Expecting a return call from the firm was a waste of ones time. Multiple mistakes were made on what I feel was a “generic” closing. Simple mistakes as attempting to record a deed in the wrong county! You would think a firm could get that right! Unless you have the patience of Jobe, you may want to spend your money elsewhere!
