HMS would be a dangerously expensive shop for us if we lived in the area. Had the Italian and the Zungenblutwurst sandwich and took some brats, mortadella, duck pate, and some headcheese home. Everything was amazing. Incredibly sweet folks. Bistro tasting is at the top of our list for our return. Cannot recommend a place more.

Awesome selection of unique in-house charcuterie and locally sourced meat. Their bread, pickles and other products are also amazing. And they seem to always have a great vegetarian option available on their lunch menu.

This place is as advertised. The Italian was made with a fresh baked wheat bread and in-house cured meats.

We had dinner at the trattoria, and it was a November highlight. We were originally supposed to come a few weeks ago, but I messed up my schedule and Mel was really accommodating to get us scheduled for a different night (and she also responded to my email in minutes–not at all expected, but very appreciated). So, great service even before we walked in the door. The meal was really something else, not food that you'll get at most other places in Philly. My boyfriend and I are both Midwestern corn-fed boys, and this is the kind of intensely rich and heavy food that was a staple growing up. It was by far the richest meal we've had with Philly, and it walked right up to the line of being overwhelming without crossing it. As for vibes, absolutely perfect. The playlist was an outstanding tour of the 2000s and 2010s. The atmosphere feels like you're in someone's home. A lot of restaurants like to claim that, but trattoria actually pulls it off. Two of the tables are literally in the kitchen. Whether you want it or not, you're getting dinner and a show. I also really like the prepay format. It hasn't caught on in Philly that much, but it has become more accepted in other cities. It feels really good to just sit and have a great meal, and walk out when you're good and ready without fussing with a bill. It really adds to the 'eating at a friends' vibe.

Fantastic food with almost all local ingredients. A lovely prix fixe experience with only three tables and a kitchen counter. The service was intimate and super friendly. Some amazingly creative and well-executed creations done very rustically. Highly recommend it.

My wife and I had dinner here and the experience was phenomenal. We sat at the chef counter and enjoyed amazing food throughout the entire 4 course meal. Such a unique experience and the food is outstanding! We will definitely be coming back soon.

Outstanding! Fresh food, homemade breads, and specialties, over the top friendly customer service. I had the smoked turkey, provolone, fresh tender greens, pesto mayo on homemade focaccia bread! Insane flavor! Next time I’ll take pics! You can buy fresh sausage and meats! All from local farms. It’s gonna be my weekly gottta go grab a creative-sandwich.

This was one of the worst meals I’ve had in Philly. The people at my table could barely finish the fish or dessert we were served.

Tonight, I went to their special fest of the seven fishes dinner and it was incredible. It was delicious and quite special. It will be impossible to get a table when the word gets out, so get to it right now. We were served a bacalao ravioli that was the best bite of pasta I've had in 2022.

The best Deli in Philly you can find really unique and interesting meats that you can't find anywhere else. Quality is rule number 1 it seems . Be sure to get one of their sandwiches or entrees as well. You won't wanna miss this!
