Horrible customer service! I placed my first online order with this company over the weekend. I wanted to cancel one of the items, as they are rather expensive. I called first thing Monday morning. The customer service rep was so rude and abrupt...she sounded angry?!! I explained what I wanted and she said "It shipped." Basically she then hung up on me. I got a notice today from UPS that the item shipped today... Tuesday! She could have cancelled the item, instead she lied.

I felt so welcomed while shopping here. I love the clothes but the customer service and chill atmosphere is what makes shopping here such a pleasure. I am a curvy woman and the clothes are super flattering!

Helpful staff that are willing to aid you in designing your individual style. These clothes are natural fabrics, European design with a flair all their own. I have visited them and called them with questions, like where do I park, how do I get to your store or do you have this item for sale.... each time a patient and friendly voice has guided me. Don't miss the experience of Gudrun, it's like a trip to Europe in NYC.

The worst fit ever. Designed for a 6 ft tall man with no hips. Floppy pockets at the hip that catch and bulge, no shaping awful style. There was a moldy musty smell to delivered clothes. Never again.

Long time customer, having made many online purchases over the years. I love their clothes. However, UPS lost my most recent package. I expected a prompt replacement response from Gudrun Sjoden, but have not been satisfied with customer service's attitude of "oh, maybe it'll turn up in a few days." An insistent email from me finally elicited a replacement from customer service. But they're shipping by UPS again and refuse to use any other shipper, even though I offered to pay for FedEx or really any option other than UPS. But no, UPS. Again. Because their failure the first time really inspires confidence. Any way, Gudrun Sjoden really doesn't get customer service and I'll be very reluctant to purchase from then online again in future. It would have been so easy for them to make this a good customer service experience.

I am in CT and when I was visiting soho, I was so drawn to the color and look of this "new" store in soho as I was on my way to another shop... I went in and it was like walking into a treasure trove of color, whimsy and artful sophistication. I did purchase a few items and the staff was beyond helpful as I am petite... and was so happy these clothes fit me! I took a catalogue and look forward to every catalogue I receive because I can't always get into the city... and this enables me to buy online. I love the fact that the catalogue and website show how to put the clothes together and -- that it features women of all colors and ages... I am over 50 and was thrilled to see women modeling over 50 (I think)! Wearing Gudrun makes me feel youthful and stylish... I am hooked. I drove from Connecticut to meet Gudrun... and it was a thrill. My husband took this image (and did not know how to work my phone!!!) but he is also a fan of the household items and loves how I look when I wear Gudrun.

Gudrun should hire Helga! Corporate couldn’t come back with a better rebuttal to Heidi’s disappointment with the sheerness of some of the fabrics, especially in the winter collections. But I too, stand with Heidi. Layering should not be a requirement to make a garment usable. For me, Gudrun’s line is not inexpensive, and to put together an outfit suitable for central New York winters isn’t practical on any level. A “fabric density” rating would be most helpful. I made that mistake once - that dress had the thinnest fabric and totally sheer, even in black. Even a turtleneck beneath wouldn’t help. I do have 2 heavier woven linen dresses that are nice, but as much as I wash them, they still haven’t reached that nice stage where you can wear ‘em without ironing, which is difficult with my disability. I’d love to see more of the cotton fabric in the picture - it feels great on, washed and dries wonderfully - I iron the hem on a clean lightbulb 💡if needed. I don’t get in a twist regarding whether the Indian cotton is organic anymore. Modi himself threw a spanner in that program, so I assume it’s not.

I ordered a lovely item and then saw it on sale less than 24 hours later. Price match? Nope. A company that touts sustainability and whose email says "please consider the environment before printing this email" encouraged me to return then repurchase an item. I guess wasting resources is fine sometimes? They say the right things when it comes to environment and sustainability but don't actually seem to practice them. Disappointing and hypocritical to say the least. It makes me wonder whether their environmental claims are legit or just greenwashing.

I loved Gudrun's style the moment I saw some of the outfits online. But since the web has a way to make lousy stuff look gorgeous, I decided to go to the store rather than order online. What I saw was way beyond my expectations. This store is a breath of fresh air in that neighborhood. The fabrics--cotton, wool, silk--are all you want for clothing. They are fair trade and ecological, even the down in the coats is from a recycled source. Considering the quality, the prices are very reasonable. The colors are magnificient and the patterns and colors, of which they have a great variety, can be easily mixed and matched to created very original ensembles. The staff is wonderful. They will help you create a combination that will be uniquely yours. You also don't need to be 20, and weigh 100 lbs to fit in those cloths.
