This review is about the store/customer service not the brand. Visited late afternoon on a Friday with friend - 3 sales assistants behind counter - one older, two younger. No greeting, no eye contact when we entered. During our 30 minute stay in store we did not receive any type of acknowledgement or offer of assistance. In fact, while in dressing room I asked my friend to find a different color of an item. She asked the older sales woman about the items and instead of physically helping with the sales woman just pointed to the area of the store where another color was located! My friend even then couldn’t find the pieces and asked yet again for assistance. Luckily, one of the younger associates stepped in to help. I would go back to store hoping to have a better customer service experience.
The clothes are unique, well made, prices are reasonable and shipping time is what you would do expect under today's circumstances. I read some of the reviews, and here is my rebuttal. The tops and dresses I received were made in Greece, India,..nothing came from China. Yes, the woven cotton fabrics are thin which is appropriate since the pieces are meant to be layered. The website and catalog clearly describes the type of fabric and fiber content. They could not have done a better job. Returns and refunds take about four weeks.
A lovely store! I have been a Gudrun customer since the 1990s, but this was my first time in the NY store. Tasteful interior. The clothes are unique with lovely patterns and often organic fabric. I love that the designer doesn't care about trends but creates garments that are individual and for a wider range of women than just the 16-25 year old crowd with no curves. There is also a home goods section. Very friendly staff and calming atmosphere.
My retail retreat for rainy days, sunny days. The sales associates are the best (thank you, Liz, for being my wingwoman in hues and fit!) and the colorful organic garments are my go-to outfits in every season!
I discovered Gudrun Sjödén last March while in Stockholm, and fell in love with their fabrics, minimalist design options, and selections with plus sizing. Yesterday I was finally able to visit their store in NYC - I was not disappointed. Not only did I walk away with some lovely additions, but the woman working yesterday was incredibly kind and helpful.
I came in today and was graciously helped by Lily, she was so understanding and attentive to me! Didn’t really know what I wanted but that didn’t matter, I truly love her taste! Will definitely be coming back again. Thank you again for helping me out, it truly made my day in the midst of this chaotic city as a first-timer from across the country.
So grand to be able to try on all these smashing Swedish designs in person! This soho store is vibrant and so are the folx who helped me find my new pieces. Thank you to Pam and Liz for their sweet and dynamic vibes.
It was my dream store. I always looked at the catalog, so I was thrilled to finally visit and see the real things. They had so many colorful and lovely clothes. The only downside was that they didn't have many clothes in my size. I am too small... I wonder if the only option is to have something made from scratch...
Lily was a great salesperson who helped me buy a birthday gift for my friend and my sister! She couldn’t have been nicer but in a non- intrusive way. The clothes are so much fun! Great colors !
LOVE the socks! They are so colorful and fit so well - and (best part) these do not have a strong elastic at the top - which means there is not 'sock cling line' on your legs! Not so sure about some of the other clothing items. Colors and patterns are happy, but some of the more loosely fitted tops are a bit too shapeless. Nonetheless - definitely worth considering each item on its own merits.
