My last evening is San Diego was well spent taking the evening cruise bought at Groupon. Purely luck based but my experience closed off with a spectacular sunset and a giant moon appearance by mountains. Seals also can be spotted! The animal not the military unit. Superb bar with drinks and light snacks. I totally recommend anyone new to the city to take it. It's about $20 for a great 2 hour boat ride.
We had an amazing experience on this little cruise. Every employee was extremely nice, the guide over the speakers had some great jokes, and overall it was wonderful. Seeing the views and learning some of the history of the city was a great way to spend the afternoon, and the price of the tickets was great and unexpected. I would love to return to see the South Bay tour!
We went on a whale and dolphins watching tour. The crew were great. We went not expecting to see anything but were able to watch grey whales, dolphins, and sea lions barking. Worth EVERY penny. Highly recommend.
Great experience! I recommend this for any tourists that may be visiting for a quick weekend or a longer 1-2 week stay. Best way to see the city and get information on everything from downtown to point loma.
We got a great deal on the 2 hour harbor cruise through Groupon. The tour guide was excellent and surprisingly the bar on the boat wasn't very expensive. Great way to learn about the San Diego bay area and spend an afternoon. Lots of cool Navy ships around too if you're into that
If you are visiting San Diego, this is a must on the list of things to do on your visit. We found the deal on Groupon which was very well priced for the two of us. We chose to do the two hour tour which took us all the way around to Coronado but there are options to go to Cabrillo. The boats go out an hour at a time return to the dock then head back out for the second hour after a 15 min break. There are also drinks both alcoholic and non and snacks aboard, so no need to bring any unless you want to save money. Be prepared to have your picture snapped upon boarding, we thought it was a great deal for the amount of pictures. You recieve 4 pics for the price of $20. Don't forget sunblock if you are going when the sun is at the hottest in the day and maybe a hat. Jackets are recommended but we didn't need ours the entire time.
Tour of the Harbor was great. I did the 2hr with both my kids. While it’s a very relaxing and calm ride my kids seemed pretty interested for the whole duration. I myself enjoyed learning about and seeing some different perspectives around San Diego. Have been spreading the word to anyone I run into since going.
This review is for their 1 hour north harbor cruise on a sunny Friday at 12:30PM. I booked tickets the day of online. Use promo code "AAA" for 10% off for AAA members! Tickets were able to be added to my digital wallet so no printing was required. You can also buy them at their ticket office. Same price online and in person. The ship has snacks and drinks for purchase. They have indoor and outdoor seating available, no assigned seats so you can wander around. The first part of the cruise sailed closer to the pier/airport side of the bay before reaching the part that opens out to the ocean then turns around and sails closer to the navy base. Time flew by, photo ops were great and the guide was knowledgeable. We waited until the day off to book because we wanted the weather to be nice. If you book the 2 hour option, our ship stopped after 1 hour to let off the 1 hour people (us), pick more people up and then proceeded with the south harbor cruise.
Went a while back to see whales, didn't see any and they were kind enough to give us a voucher. Came back again and saw whales, sea lions, and dolphins, and the crew was having as much fun as we were! They were courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend for whale watching.
Me and my family had an awesome time on this 2 hr cruise. The host/guide was very knowledgeable about SD and harbor area. We didn't see any dolphins or whales, but we did see seals! Great price for this cruise! Would do it again. Highly recommend.
