They never want to help ppl that need it. This is my 2nd time trying. Almost all the legal aid in Chicago turn you away due to their lawyers having heavy case loads or because they don’t want to deal with your case. It’s a shame
I was a benefactor of an Extensive Pro Bono legal assistance requiring deep research and many long hours of fact checking and I was treated very kindly by these dedicated legal professionals. A very special recognition of appreciation for all the dedication by Cynthia Cornelius and a hearty thank you to Beth Johnson and all the staff behind the scenes at CGLA
Don't know what I would've done without these guys, Amazing staff that care about common folks like me. I had a 20 yr old felony & with their help , it's now sealed to the public & I've landed a great job, GOD bless them all
They help me for years to get to see my kid but that's all they really do. Just help to let you see your kid. Had both good and bad results.
I'm still waiting on them for help 2 months now. Very slow 🐌 UPDATE. 6 months later and nothing. I'm guessing the best way is to just go in person.
CGLA helped me in a time where the challenges were nearly unbearable. But once I completed the assigned tasks from them, their team was able to fulfill my dream of being awakened from the nightmares that were results of my criminal past. Vigilance is required as the state may fail to follow through on the Judge’s order to seal or expunge so be sure to keep checking on that.
I have emailed them twice & called multiple times with no response. Its unfortunate cause I filled a case for expungement back in July 2023 & nobody will update me. I'm at a loss for words as I wasted 9 months for no response.
My lawyer Jason Robb was amazing these people changed my life completely got my criminal convictions & Felonies along with misdemeanors expunged free of charge I’m prouder too say I am no longer a felony be patient with them they will go the length to get the job done I recommend Jason Robb he means business
This is the office to seek If you need legal assistance with a legal matter. I am please with the lawyer I spoke to. She spoke to me as if I mattered and answered all my question. She also gave me information to help me move forward. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of assistance. Don't be afraid to call, you will feel better having a legal plan and knowing your opinion. Need to update, still pleased will all the staff that made this easy , please make sure to complete the application completely, and follow all the instructions, and send in all required documentation pertaining to your case. It will move your case forward. The staff are lawyer that assist, provide their time and law knowledge, no office, visit. Just follow instructions and you’ll make it as easy as completing application and submitting all needed documents. They will contact you to follow up if they have questions.Cabrini Green staff volunteers, but they work on your case with dedication. Thank you Cabrini Green Legal Aid for giving me back my peace of mind and legal support. Sorry for any and all TYPO.
