Definitely must hit this brewery. Good beers for your crowd. IPA and browns. Took a mini tour and we got to sample the freshest beer. Amazing! Local brewers with a pride for their local crowd. Take a tour if you can.
Loved Bold City Brewing Company! They had a very welcoming bartender who was very knowledge about their brews! I tried the Oats and Mt. Rainer Hazy Pale Ale and it was delicious! A must try if you like lighter craft beers like me. They also had live music when I went which I highly enjoyed!
Used to be a supporter of this local brewery when I used to live in Jax. We went to the downtown location recently. They do not serve food at either location but at least the original one has a food truck. Currently they do not offer their own gluten free beer buuut they are working on according to the bartender. Will is awesome!
I've never been blown away by anything Bold City is doing beer wise so it's taken me a long time to finally come here. The service at this location was good and the tap room well kept. Good experience overall.
Convenient taproom downtown to enjoy a Bold City brew. I had my favorite, Dukes Cold Nose Brown Ale. Excellent brown ale. Fantastic beer selections, plus they have wine too. Will go back when I'm downtown Jax next time. Walked there, but street parking was available. Wish they had some real food here. Just the typical bar apps woulda been nice. Atmosphere is a little dark, but it sets well with the downtown vibe. Staff plentiful and helpful.
Good beer selection and a fun fact for new visitors, this is the flagship brewery of Jax, Fl. So this is Jacksonville’s first craft brewery!
Went here last night with a group of friends the bartender was extremely rude and threatened to call the cops on us after we used the restrooms and grabbed a table outside to figure out what we were going to order. We had just finished our pedal pub tour and was told this was the ended destination of the tour. She proceeded to come back out to flick us off even though we had moved from in front of the building after the situation. Wish it was a better experience but sadly will not be back to either of the bold city locations after this.
Taster flight of the 1901 Roasted Red on Nitro (almost a porter more than a red), the Kitchen Sink Imperial Milk Stout (a bit sweet for my taste but smooth), the Mad Manatee IPA (my favorite of the two IPAs, more piney hop), Bold City IPA, and Duke's Brown (their flagship, I was surprised it was my favorite of the flight as I don't usually like browns). Nice relaxed atmosphere. Long and deep beer. Friendly staff. Got to drink beside one of the brewers who was good fun.
I walked in it just after 4 PM this afternoon and asked if I could use the bathroom and the bartender asked me if I’m a customer. I told him that at this very moment, but I would come back and I would have drinks and dying, but he said no, I could not use the bathroom because I’m not a paying customer and he has to clean the bathrooms. I will not come back, ever! That’s how you treat someone who needs to use the bathroom? Come on now. You’re in the service industry and you have to clean those bathrooms anyway. Your customer service is lacking and for that reason, I will never reach her.
Very chill brewery in downtown Jacksonville. I enjoyed the Manatee IPA and the Bold City IPA. It was a cool atmosphere and the bartender was very personal and engaging. Prices were on point too!
