Stopped in for the first time today for an afternoon beer with a friend. The woman behind the bar was really friendly, engaged us in some knowledgeable beer chat, and quick set up a table outside for us so we could enjoy the nice weather! Both beers she recommended were right on point for what we asked for. I didn’t get a chance to look through the many fridges of take-out options, but it looked pretty extensive and well-stocked! Looking forward to stopping in again soon.
An incredible shop, amazing selection, and always a friendly greeting with thoughtful suggestions. I’m several years in on the monthly membership and love the monthly surprises, as well as stopping by for a fresh draught.
Cool place! Nice staff. Good place to have a beer without the darkness of a bar. Update: I would love to be patronizing this place these days; they’re really close by and I’ve had good experience there in person. But their system since covid is really not user-friendly, there’s no option to just say what you want at their window, and staff aren’t exactly helpful or communicative about any of this. I know it’s a tough situation to adapt to but we’re like a year into the pandemic now. I’ve just stopped trying here.
Read the previous reviews and lived around the corner from them since they first opened. I see their ID policy is just as terrible, so much so, I had to go on FaceTime, just so my friend would get approved of using my card. Too much hassle for a single can. No wonder this place looks empty all the time. They seem to be plucked straight from Park Slope. Hate how they treat foreigners. Making other customers show passports over a single cider because they don't like IDs from other countries is weird. Stick to the Bella Vista Beverage - they're less paranoid, great at giving alternative beer and cider suggestions with an enormous amount of options. Worth the walk in 100 degree weather compared to this spot.
This place is nothing short of amazing. The selection is diverse. There is something for everyone. Completely opened my eyes and taste buds when it comes to beer. The staff is phenomenal. Super friendly and great conversations. A great place to wind down after a long day. Would 100% recommend. Don’t miss out!!!
I wanted to "Love" this place because I'm a beer enthusiast in the neighborhood, but it has disappointed me too many times to go back. Disappointments: - the one guy seems to be miserable and downright mean to customers at times. Very condescending. Not to say they don't like their job, but don't seem to like people very much. I want to talk beer with my local store staff instead I get carded (I'm 38) and ignored when I have questions. - the costs are exorbitant and the beer is not fresh!! I understand and accept the high prices in bottle shops, but they are charging $7 for a can of local, low-cost DIPA that has been sitting on the shelf for 8 months or more, tasting horrible. If you are going to upcharge, make sure your product is fresh and quality. - have also paid these high prices for cans that were "bad batches" and fizzed uncontrollably when opened. may be a brewer issue but this has happened on 3 different occasions with three different beers, making it a shop issue. Positives: -A woman who appears to be the owner/management is very nice and accommodating. -Decent selection of highly rated beers. I haven't taken advantage of the beers on tap as much as I'd like but they are usually top-notch. I'd love to change my mind about this place, but I think I've gotten burned with sub-par beers and poor service to go back.
Love this place; it's a neighborhood gem. Both bartenders are great and very knowledgeable about all their products. I love sitting at the bar and chatting them and other customers up. Some of the nicest folks hang out here. The ID issue reviews are just plain weird. What grown ups don't have valid ID on them when they buy booze from anywhere in any town? Feels like an orchestrated attack on this small business which is a real shame.
Beer love is my favorite local bottle shop! It's clean, comfortable, and convenient. I have lived in Queen Village for a couple of years and this place has been my go-to for beer & wine. Their beer selection is huge, and wine selection has something for all tastes, seasons, and price points. They have a well curated selection of draft beers to drink at the counter or at their lovely parking lot patio setup. I have frequently been delighted by their suggestions and could not recommend them enough!
Welcome to the place with the best selection of beer/wine in Queen Village/Society Hill! John and Kristen, the owner, are a fantastic team -- so fun to sit and chat with them over a few beers. Don't bother going for basic beer...they carry top notch brands and have a really wide variety. I'm a member there and receive a curated six pack by the owner each month. It's so fun to try all of the different beers she includes. I highly recommend joining. If you can't make the financial commitment I highly recommend shopping there for your beer and wine needs. You'll find things you can't get anywhere else. They also have a particularly good selection of sours if that's what you're into. Solid spot and I always have a great experience there!
An amazing place that always has a lovely vibe and the best people, both customers and owners. Come here if you want to feel good. Jon and Kristen are the best!
