Our favorite neighborhood spot! Great selection of beers on tap and to go. They also have a smaller selection of excellent wines at various price points as well. Can’t go wrong here!
Most of the bad reviews on here are from kids who (for some reason) think they don’t need to keep their ID on them. If you’re visiting from out of town, please be nice to Kristen & Jon. They’re just two Philadelphians trying to run a clean and well-organized beer establishment in Philly (rarer than you realize). If you get carded and it pisses you off, go give a one-star review to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Bureau, not these guys.
This is without a doubt the best place in the city for bottle selection! Even when Foodery still had their Sansom St bottle shop, BeerLOVE had them beat for curated bottle selection in Center City. Jon and the rest of the bartenders here are knowledgeable and chill, and their draft selection is great too, for the occasional sit-in brew. Def stop by!
Forgot how annoying it was here, not coming back again. They turned us away because I didn’t have my ID even though I wasn’t even making the purchase (my friend was), I forgot they had this silly rule that every single person in the party needs their ID to buy a single can of beer or bottle of wine. It’s not even a law in PA that everyone in the group needs their ID, I don’t really know why they actively choose to hurt their own business like that lol. I spent the extra time to go to Fine Wine and Good Spirits just to not give BeerLove any money. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about this place and I see why it’s so unpopular, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s gone soon
One of the best and most well curated beer selections I have ever seen in a shop. They have things that are frankly near impossible to find elsewhere. They also have a lovely bar space where you can enjoy with friends. You should know coming in that this place is fairly expensive compared to other general liquor stores but the offering is far worth the price of admission. A hipster craft beer snob paradise.
Seems like a lot of these reviewers don’t realize how strict the Id policy on south street is and how often the state sends in secret testers from the state who can revoke their license
Can't say enough good things about this place! I've heard it described as a bottle store/beer bar with a coffee shop vibe. The young couple who own the place are very friendly and knowledgeable. If you're not sure what you want they can offer a wide range of suggestions based on your general preferences or they can introduce you to something really interesting and new. Also, the place is BYOF (bring your own food!) so we often do takeout and sit at the bar to chat with the owners and other customers. Check this place out the next time you're in the neighborhood!
Cozy little neighborhood bottle shop! Always an interesting selection of beer and wine and very helpful staff.
These people know what they are doing when it comes to stocking delicious beers of ALL kinds. They seem to be constantly getting fun new ones in. Of course I love buying beer based on the label (you really cant go wrong at this shop) but I especially love that Jon and Kristin are happy to recommend beers based on my tastes, the season, and even my mood (seriously). Soooo lucky to have this spot in my own neighborhood but if you don’t live in queen village, it’s definitely worth the trip.
Best bottle shop in town! has an awesome selection of local and international beer and wines! you can always find something new to try. The staff is super friendly and actually knows their stuff, so it’s easy to get a solid recommendation. Chill spot, great vibes, perfect for picking up a few favs or discovering something rare.
