Our drinks were pretty bad and when we asked to get them fixed the employees rolled their eyes at us and didn’t do much. And we had tipped! I wanted to take the tip back.
My wife went down today to get us some drinks and treats. Ordered 3 drinks, a pandan waffle, a banana crepe, and a strawberry crepe. They told her they would have to heat up the crepe plate and that was ok, but then they went ahead and made all of the drinks and let them sit. All said and done the cold drinks were not cold, the hot drink wasn't hot, we got two banana crepes and no strawberry, and the crepes were doughy and undercooked. Waffle was interesting though....
Arguably the best smoothies in the City. They are never too sweet and they use really unique fruits to stick out. The passionfruit smoothie was a great balance of tart and refreshing.
A piece of Vietnam here in Kansas City! Bambu is a newly opened chained dessert place here in the heart of the Midwest. Located across from KU Med, Bambu offers an array of various drinks, Chès (a delectable Vietnamese dessert in forms of beverages, puddings, and soups), mochi ice cream, crepes, and waffles. My friend and I visited Bambu during the grand opening. Walking into the shop, I was pleasantly surprised by the modern yet charming decor (perfect for those who love to take pictures, like myself lol). For my first time there, I opted for the highly recommended Passion Fruit Tea. The tea was indeed very fresh and contained real passion fruit! The other times I went to Bambu I got the Thai Tea w/ Boba (which is a free add-on), the Mango Fresh Fruit Tea, and the Pennywort and Coconut Juice. Bambu by far has the best Thai Tea I've ever had! The Thai Tea had a perfect ratio of tea to milk and the sweetness level was superb. For the Mango Fresh Fruit Tea, it was refreshing and had bits of real fruits and basil seeds--yumm! As for the Pennywort and Coconut Juice, it instantly brought me back to memories of Vietnam. The Pennywort and Coconut Juice tasted exactly like the ones I had at the street stalls in Vietnam. The sugar level was again, really spot on and the FRESH chunks of coconut were heavenly. To add, both the Pandan and Taro waffles were delicious! They were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I would highly recommend! For the staffs, they were welcoming and always willing to go the extra mile for their customers. I felt like I was never rushed, even during their peak hours. Overall, Bambu is just simply amazing. From their freshly cracked coconut juice and to their homemade coconut milk and pandan jelly, Bambu is a place that offers the freshest of ingredients for their customers. For those who are looking for a new and refreshing dessert place or for those who want to revisit memories of their childhood, come stop by Bambu! You won't regret it!
Really great customer service and a great selection. I highly recommend it!
As a Vietnamese, I know what che is and it is a very yummy treat. I have never had Bambu before and today marked my first time ever. Walking into the KC Bambu shop, it was amazingly decorated for sure. The place really fits the name and it was just overall very cute. Moving on to the drinks and the dessert, I got a Bambu Combo while my sister had an Avocado Smash. Although their che were not that bad, they were not the best either. The Bambu Combo tasted very bland. All three types of beans tasted as if they have been taken directly out of their containers so they were a little bit hard and not as sweet like the beans supposed to be in che. Moreover, the coconut milk in che is supposed to be more like a milky white, condensed, and sweet but in this case, it was more watery and unsweet. The pandan jelly were a little bit too chewy and so it was a a bit of a challenge to swallow. As for the Avocado smash, it was interesting. The first taste you get is a hint of durian, then a little sweetness of sugar, but the after taste was more on the side of nutty and meaty. It was a bit weird and so I did not try it again afterward. Overall, these two drinks are the only ones I tried and so I am not really sure of the other flavors but I had another friend who also bought one today and complained about KC Bambu's che to be really bland and not sweet. She said Atlanta and Chicago Bambus' che were pretty sweet and good so this might be just a silly mistake of forgetting to add sugar/sweetener. Afterall, it was only their opening day so it could get better. I don't know if there will be another return, but I think that if I do come back, I would try their fruity che and not the ones with coconut milk/coconut water. Everyone's taste bud is different so definitely give this place a try!
It was my second time to this restaurant and I ended up having to wait 45 minutes for my 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks. Apparently my order got mixed up and they forgot about me. Luckily the Chiefs game was on so the time didn't feel so long for me, but the rest of my party was pretty upset. It could be an anomaly but it wasn't even busy and I don't know how that could of happened. Nothing was offered as well for my long wait, so needless to say I'm more than dissapointed. Just a word of advice to the shop workers, don't ever forget about your customers or their experiences at your restaurant. One bad handling of a situation will cost you future customers and revenue.
We ordered two salted Carmel blended mocha with boba! The coffee was amazing!! The boba was very fresh! Staff was very friendly. We did wait for a bit to receive our drinks!!!
Yum yum so tasty! My sandwich / Banh Mi (special combination) and dessert drink/Che (fruit addict #6)
The hours on the door is misleading as it said open at 11AM everyday. I waited and to be told that the store don’t open until 11:30 AM during week day. Other time, I have been waited in the store and didn’t see anybody for like 20 mins so I had to come back to order. This issue just happened very recently! Food is good though!
