This is my second time using ZH1 for masonry work and they did another great job. Ali and his team got the work done on time and on budget. Ali was easy to get in touch with to coordinate the project and is very professional and courteous. I would recommend ZH1 for any exterior masonry needs.

ZHI Construction did a truly outstanding job on our home. The brickwork looks brand new, and the custom-made lintels perfectly match the originals, showing their dedication to authentic restoration. The team’s workmanship is of the highest quality, and their attention to detail is remarkable. The brick stripping process was intensive, as is normal with this kind of restoration, but their considerate and professional crew made it stress-free—cleaning up thoroughly each day and promptly addressing any concerns from us or our neighbors. Their dedication to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction was clear from start to finish. We continue to receive compliments from passersby, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. I was very excited to start a project with them based on a friend’s referral. I had a consultation on the day after Thanksgiving of 2025. I was promised quotes and follow up. Every time I texted to ask about a quote I would be assured that one was being worked on. My last response was in January being told I would get a call. It is March of 2026 and haven’t had any communication from them. The reason why I gave 2 stars is because I have seen their job around the neighborhood and they look good. We specifically asked in person if our job was too small for this company and I was told that it wasn’t. I’m not sure what’s going on or if they are just too busy for work on a single family home in Jersey City. Update: So after contact was made by Ali, the job has been completed working with Umer. There were some issues with the brick colors from what we chose to the pallet that was given, after we noticed that the bricks didn’t match the original colors we picked, we reached out to the team and it was resolved by them getting more bricks and picking the colors that matched our original choice from their supplier. The granite we chose also was a mismatch from what we chose, that we noticed and this was also resolved. But these bumps in the road caused delays in work and were issues my husband and I noticed. Luckily we live near the work site and were able to visit often to catch these errors before they were installed. Overall working with Umer and his team was great. They really worked with us to make sure we were satisfied with their work and checked in with us often.

We decided to use ZH1 after receiving estimates from about 4 to 5 contractors for a 2 building, 5 story facade brick pointing and repair project in Jersey City. They were reasonably priced compared to all the other contractors, some being priced way above what would be expected (won't name names lol). We were very unlucky with bad weather throughout the project but Ali and his crew were patient, persistent and went above and beyond in some repairs that were not even in the original estimate. A few months later the exterior looks great and I'm very glad we used them for this important job! Thank you again Ali, appreciate it!

Ive worked with ZH1 on multiple condo association buildings for façade work, repointing, and cornice repairs, and they consistently do excellent work. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding, and the finished results always look great. They are reliable, stay on schedule, and communicate clearly throughout the entire project, which makes managing building work much easier. It’s been a great experience working with them, and I would highly recommend them for any masonry or façade restoration projects.

We started with fixing a damaged cornice and some touch ups on the facade. In the end, we realized we should not leave any parts as is…ZHI were easy to work with and followed back and their quality, ensuring the work was done properly. Already planning another job with ZHI.

We hired ZHI for foundation repair and had a great experience. Fair price, quick turnaround, and good communication throughout the process. Highly recommend.

We hired ZHI Renovations to paint the trim under and above our windows, doors, and stairs, as well as remove the iron guards on the front of our brownstone. At first, they were punctual and seemed to work quickly. I even recommended them to our neighbor. However, things took a turn for the worse as their work grew sloppy. Paint marks were left all over, they left exposed parts of the removed iron, and instead of removing our mailbox, they painted around it. Despite informing them that we wouldn’t be keeping the front door and didn't require sanding and painting, they initially deducted $200 from the quote, attributing it to iron door disposal, which we ultimately handled ourselves. When we asked for a price adjustment accordingly, they declined. In the pictures of the door trim I attached below you can see they didn’t even bother sanding the trim. They claimed they couldn't sand it due to its age only informing us about this after it was painted. For a Brownstone Masonry company, dealing with old wood should be a given, especially for properties over 100 years old like ours.Again they refused to lower the price, take a good look at the paint drip marks and tell me if that’s worth $2,400 (which was a large chunk of the overpriced total estimate of 7K). Now for the worst part of this experience, our neighbor ended up using their services as well only a week later. Our property is recently bought and vacant for renovations. ZHI’s employees broke into our downstairs unit and stole our black paint to paint our neighbor’s brownstone. Obviously upset that someone would trespassed and steal from our property we quickly called them to complain. They gave us a quick I’m sorry and that they just wanted to match the paint to ours which they would replace (they never did). For the next two days ZHI employees without our permission continue to break into our downstairs unit to use our bathrooms and living space to eat. One of the days they even left the front door wide open creating a huge security risk. Day after day I called them to complain and even threaten to call the police and still they responded with an “I’m sorry about that”. ZHI Renovations is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend them to anyone.

ZHI Restoration is the best to go with for anything and all things brownstone. They take care of all aspects of the project from beginning to end, they are professional, and in my opinion have the best work! Everything looks crispy and clean! I would 10/10 recommend going with ZHI.
