We went to Town Hall Restaurant last night for dinner with our college-aged son and it was amazing! The food was awesome, atmosphere is incredible, service is spot on, and drinks are delicious!! It’s in a really cute area with lots to walk around and see. We’ll definitely be back when we come into town!
My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves here. Our bartender was very attentive. The drinks were amazing and the food was even better. Highly recommend the macaroni and cheese. There’s also outdoor seating if you want to bring a furry friend.
We had tonight's special - 12oz thick cut pork chop. Delicious, juicy, and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we indulged in another special - bananas foster bread pudding. Again, delicious! We were grooving to the 70's playlist, bopping our heads and singing along (probably not as quietly as we should ...) and enjoyed the atmosphere until they sat a family next to us with annoying children (not a popular opinion, but if your children cannot behave, please don't bring them to a restaurant.) Otherwise, great experience! Highly recommend!
Had a really wonderful experience here. It's very cozy and intimate but still refined. Very clean and wonderful service; we felt welcomed right away. I appreciated how helpful the staff was, but not in an overbearing way. The food was delicious; you can really tell from the quality that it is truly farm-to-table, and the ingredients they use are fresh. Portion sizes were also generous and left us full. We ordered the octopus, Brussels sprouts, and green beans as appetizers and the green beans are some of the best we've had, they were rich with flavor. For our entrees we had the homemade pasta, the scallops, and the chicken, all of which were perfectly satisfying and flavorful. I would definitely come again especially for dinner.
Seriously phenomenal all around. Service was top notch, food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Love the farm to table and local aspects of Town Hall, but they truly shine in their customer service. Absolutely an A1 restaurant. My husband and I will *definitely* be back soon! Thanks again.
Town Hall Restaurant Jacksonville is a Farm to Table- themed venue in the San Marco district. It was packed when our party got there. We were seated by the kitchen and our server was definitely a seasoned veteran! She was a consummate professional and proud of her craft! She offered amazing recommendations, which we gladly indulged in. We ordered the Duck Fat Cornbread with a bright Napa Cabbage spicy ranch and pepper slaw, Sweet Carrot Hummus with candied pumpkin seed and chili crunch on a nice crostini, and the Seared Octopus with fennel tomato , and almonds in a citrus vinaigrette. All were amazing! Our entrees ranged from the arctic salmon to the house made pasta sugo. They were all delicious! Every enjoyed delicious cocktails but we were so enamored with the deliciousness of the Ancient Peaks cab from Paso Robles! Fantastic, attentive service by a very proud professional staff, amazing food, very quaff-able wines! You will not be disappointed!
Lychee sunrise Perfect balance of fruity and sweet. I was not a big fan of the foam on top however my boyfriend liked it a lot. Overall the drink was really good. My boyfriend says it is one of the favorite drinks he's ever had although I don't feel this way, we both quite loved it. Ahi tuna I thought the tuna was pretty good, I think a hint of sweetness would have brought it together perfectly. My boyfriend however was very fond of it and thought it was perfect and really loved it. He thought the salad beneath the tuna complemented the tuna really well. I agree that the combination was pretty good. Filet mignon It was on the pinker side of medium rare, but overall well cooked and well seasoned. Definitely one of the better steaks he has ever had according to my boyfriend. The sides were perfectly seasoned as well, combination worked well together. Fresh catch with salmon preparation I thought the fish was great, and there was a hint of sweetness that really paired well with the sides. My boyfriend thought that the fish was really well cooked and not overcooked and dry like fish often is. But to him, the star of the fish was the seasoning. Too many places are afraid of seasoning their fish and this place was not afraid and that definitely made the food better. Sides were good, potatoes were good but the leaves were quite awkward to eat but the flavor paired well. Dulce de dulce brownie We both think it was in interesting, note worthy attempt, and we're both glad we tried it. That said, we both feel that the execution was far from perfect. The brownie was incredibly decadent, maybe too much so, and to me that was a downside. I feel the sweetness of the brownie really overpowered the ice cream. My boyfriend also feels that the proportion of ice cream to brownie was notably out of wack, leading to it being overwhelming. The popcorn, while an interesting idea felt also a bit awkward making the dish a bit weird but we both loved the concept and idea. My boyfriend thinks that it would be a great idea to reduce the proportion of the brownie and keep the ice cream the same and to also reduce the price to make that desert all worth it. Service We thought that the service was acceptable given that we walked in within an hour before closing. The food came out quickly but fresh and tasty. We would definitely be going back more often if we had the wallet to afford it. Overall a nice gem and a nice spot.
We sat in the back room of the establishment near the kitchen. So I can't tell you how it is near the bar area. But it seemed to be on-point. Very intimate seating. Our waiter, Martin did a phenomenal job with service. I had flounder in a tomato based sauce and beans. I wasn't a fan of the beans. But the fish was cooked 👌🏾. She had the half chicken with mash... and it was delicious 😋
I'm here to tell you about my absolute favorite salad in town, the Pepper Crusted Ahi Tuna salad at Town Hall!!! I'm not even kidding when I say I try my best to get my hands on this salad every one to two weeks, but I crave it literally every single day. This was a quick little stop in for happy hour when I just had to have it. We started with drinks, a dirty martini for me and a wine flight for the hubster. It was a Wednesday and the place was buzzing with a fun wine event going on. He LOVED the wine flight and found a new favorite! The staff are just excellent with their advice and descriptions. My martini was perfect. Then I had that salad of my constant cravings. It's delightfully peppery, and the dressing is absolute heaven! There is also a chili aioli drizzled on top that I could drink. I want the recipe for it so bad! The crispy shallots on top gives it all the perfect little crunch. It's THE PERFECT SALAD and here I go torturing myself until they open at 4:30 pm today. The hubster got just the side of mac n cheese, because it's huge and he added salmon to it. It was unbelievable how big that salmon was... a full sized filet. It was cooked perfectly and delicious! He also got green beans for a little rounded out meal. They were simple and tasty. Then we finished up with a citrus basil creme brulèe and OMG! YUM! It even tasted better than it looks in the pics! If you made it through all this, get yourself over to the happy hour daily at Town Hall. It's a great way to go out to treat yourself without the expense of a full dinner and it's truly wonderful! That's the Scoop! No happy hour menu, sorry, we just ordered off the main menu and got a starter and a side. 😋🥂🍸
Food=outstanding. Pumpkin bread, breakfast bowls, and plenty of cocktail options. Atmosphere - clean building, comfortable, swanky Service - exceeds expectations Try the Chilly Irishman or the Coldbrewtini for coffee cocktail. Recommend to try this place.
