As the owner of a catering company (Shining Stars) I can honestly say this is one of the most outstanding venues in Kansas City to cater in. Every aspect is attended to for the ULTIMATE guest experience and the events held are always exceptional. The well equipped catering facilities allow us to perform any service required by our clients when we work there. It is a joy and privilege to work in such a amazing venue. The Event Coordination team of Nicholle, Camille, Becky and McCall work beautifully together to ensure each event is flawlessly designed and coordinated. Shining Stars give The Grand Hall our highest endorsement!
Beautiful historic building. Poor acoustics, very loud. It wasn’t the band. We couldn’t tolerate the noise caused by hundreds of conversations bouncing off the concrete and glass, and left before the band started. Granted there were a lot of people, and it is completely understandable that maintaining the historical architecture should be more important than creating a good acoustical venue, but if both could be accomplished it would be the best large venue in the city.
This is the prettiest historic space in KC for a wedding reception. And we toured just about everywhere! Tyler is great to work with and was extra helpful the day of the wedding doing anything we needed. We got so many compliments on the beauty of the space. Highly recommend!
Such a classy and elegant wedding venue!
This venue turned our wedding into a fairy tale! Every part of it felt so luxurious and grand. The space is absolutely stunning, all of the girls there are incredible, and my coordinator went so above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect - thinking of all those little things I didn't and helping to make sure they got done! Every question I had was answered with perfect clarity, and they worked with me every step of the way. I knew every guest at my wedding had an amazing time, which was really the most important thing to me and my groom. The location was ideal, right across the street from the event hotel, the Hilton President, was very reassuring to me that everyone would be able to safely get to and from the wedding after enjoying our open bar. The views of the city from the rooftop terrace were incredible, and we were able to get so many beautiful pictures of just the groom and I up there on the big day. It is comfortable any time of year since it is indoors, it is so absolutely stunning that you won't even want to add many decorations, but it is so open that you can't add too many. Despite the large open feel, our small(er) wedding of 130 felt very intimate and close. I have no regrets with my decision to get married at The Grand Hall. It, and the amazing people that come with it, allowed our wedding to be everything we dreamed it could be, and then some!
