Pretty disappointed about the new prices. Why am I looking at $15-20 short sleeve shirts? Also why did they put in a self check out if the employees have to still check you out? It's like normal checkout, but now there's no place to sit any of the merchandise.
Awesome selection of things. All bathrooms were out of order, and the checkouts were a madhouse, but will definitely be back!
Ok, what's the point of having the self-checkout setup, but you don't check yourself out????? They should have left it the way it was. You still have to wait in line, only to have them scan the tags, but you bag your own items??????? No, Ma'am. You wanna ring me up, you bag the items too. And what's the deal with the trend of thrift stores like this one and Goodwill, etc. not providing fitting rooms and bathrooms? You have to hunt someone down to get a key for the restroom. Pricing is getting outrageous. At this rate, you may as well shop at Ross or Marshall's and get stuff new and in season. Catch the %50 off sales. That's the time it seems like a deal deal depending on what you get.
First we lost Thrift Town, Texas Thrift Store is as good as gone now too. New ownership, dress rooms removed completely. No refunds, no exchanges. No senior discounts, no military discounts, and no more 50% off whole store sales. Prices are astronomical. Used to be very reasonable, prices kept going up, now appallingly overpriced. $40 for 5 pj's, 4 long sleeves, and 3 pants for an infant. A single pair of mens socks were $2.99+. My brother went in a couple weeks ago and got double charged on the new self check out. The employee made him rescan everything, insert his card and run it twice. They said he will just have to contact his bank. Self Checkout is supposed to be a quicker alternative but you still wait in line. Employees stand there and scan your items while you take them off the hanger and bag them. Please take your donations elsewhere, like Twice Blessed or Awareness Project, if you'd like to be of service to the community. These people are ironically watching you like a hawk while they rob you and your family in broad daylight. I've been coming here for over a decade and never felt this dingy atmosphere it's become. I also used to work here years ago and the 100+ pallets of clothing in the backroom were stacked to the ceiling just collecting dust. One word: Greed.
Out of all the thrift shops that are in Irving, this is the worst. The selection is okay sometimes but their pricing is so bad nothing is worth buying. If you come here you must expect everything to be overpriced. They see a puma/nike/adidas logo on any garment and they add an extra $10 to the price. You might as well be going to an outlet for the prices some of the things are set at in here. This is a for profit business as well and they get a lot of stuff donated for free. They do not help out the community outside of keeping the trash clothes they sell outside of landfills.
Prices way too high for used goods..Might as well go to hobby lobby and buy it new. Was interested in a arts and craft item but the orange color coded sticker had been partially peeled off and removed and they refused to sell it too me or get me a price while I was there waiting. Since they use color coded stickers I asked them how much the orange sticker items were but they refused to tell me and took the item away and told me they couldn't sell it to me without a sticker.. Curious I came back 2 days later and found the item again only this time it had a purple colored sticker and was triple the price of the orange coded stickets...No thanks..
Rivera- was amazing! Fast friendly checkout.
I used to come here for good clothes and collectors items now everything’s expensive I found some normal Pokémon cards in a bag of 7 for 8 dollars! More than a normal pack and the electronics are the only normal prices left there starting to become more cheap
Before today this was my top store to shop at and would recommend this store to everyone. Last shopping trip 10/10/24 everything was as usual, today I go in and everything has changed. Prices were shocking, I just told myself must be new items or fact that its fall/winter season itmes so maybe their priced a little higher, ok no problem. But after spending 2 hours looking and getting items I walk up to registers that are now self-checkout and I use that term loosely because when you get to said register employee says " i scan you bag". There were about 6+ registers but not all available because there was no attendant at those to help you check out, so I don't understand why they even changed registers??? I was there with an exchange which before they had a 14 day exchange policy, well not anymore! Why didn't they have signs up saying policy's would soon change ( i looked on their social media/website and no announcement there either)? I left new items there and now I have items that are no good to me as they do not fit and wasted money. Very disappointed to say the least. I at least hope that they bring back fitting rooms so IF I decide to shop here again I will leave with items I know will fit. Note they also changed discounts on the colored tags.
This place has lost their minds tagging blouses for 20 and 30 dollars. And 10 on things that you can buy from family dollar for less than they tagged it. What a waste of time. Juat getting greedy like everyone else. Knowing that stuff was donated to them Shame on you TG for gouging an already broke community.
