Taps on Main

We had a big company meeting at the Kauffman Center. The Taps on Main was just a few blocks away and my team (about 25) went for drinks and snacks afterwards. At 4:15 on a Thursday, we had the place to ourselves and parking was available in their lot. But, I imagine you will need to park on the street at busier times. They seemed to have whatever my coworkers wanted. I enjoyed a Shirley Temple and appreciate that they have non-alcoholic options. The servers were attentive and brought out our food pretty quickly. The pretzel sticks, chicken fingers, and fried chicken fingers were a hit. The nachos looked delicious but were soggy so those weren’t as popular. I am dairy free, so we ordered French fries which were delightful. They were just the right texture - a little crunchy and soft inside. They have some large garage style doors that open up the restaurant to outdoor seating and it was a beautiful day.

I think this may be our new beer spot! Great patio, huge selection of beer, service was on point, helpful and he explained everything on the process of pouring our own beers. Food was good too! We visited on 5/10/21 in the evening. Update: We’ve returned twice since 5/10 and ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich (super greasy, over cooked, dried out and just gross) on one visit and the Philly sandwich (very dry/plain despite adding all toppings and extra cheese) on another...both were sadly horrible. Stick to the pretzels and sliders! Beer and service has been great each visit! Changing 5 stars to 4 due to food/kitchen. Kitchen staff needs to step it up! FOH, is great!

Large number of taps. You can taste what you like and only get charged for what you drink. Chicken fingers were excellent (about the best I've ever had). Beer selection weighed too heavily towards Imperial stouts, but otherwise had a good seleof unique beers. Large seating area and airy atmosphere.

Very mediocre I'm my opinion, food menu is pretty limited, my burger was pretty bland and there were not alot of options in the burger department. The service was good though. The main reason people go is for the pour your own beers which is a neat gimmick at first but quickly wears off. All in all its just okay I probably would not go again though

used to go here a lot during the past 1.5 years, went back this weekend during lunch and discovered that the menu was downsized by about 50%. no more nashville hot sliders, corn nuggets, etc. very sad. also there was only two people working on the floor/bar. they both seemed very stressed out and unhappy which is totally fair lol. we had to wait around 30 minutes to get checked out which we had to initiate twice. not sure if it’s new management or something else but i am curious to know what’s going on 😔

Cool sports bar catering to the home teams and Buffalo with many, many drink choices. The Philly is pretty good, just needs more cheeze please. The taters were good too.

Cool vibe and stop along our bar hopping. They have like 20 different brews on tap to select from. They have sample glasses to full size glasses. The food looks good, but was there for the brew. Highly recommend. Good for groups, solo, or date night. It can get price on the pours but still worth it.

Let's try a new beer. That's how I felt when I saw all the beer taps. I was a newbie to this place. Sam the beer lady explained it all. She took my credit card and gave me a card to place on the tap. That is when I could pour as much or as little beer that I wanted. Cool part is when you place your card on the tap is shows the amount of money you owe. Knowing what charges you are at you can stop when you hit your dollar amount. I ordered wings and fried pickles. If you want a fancy meal this is not the place. If you want better than bar food this is the place. I will go back every few months to try all the new beers.

If you love beer this is the place for you to try a wide variety of them. Cool patio seating and good space for small parties. The highlight is definitely being able to sample different beers from all over by the ounce.

Fantastic spot. Best beers in town. And they have such a great concept… You can pour what you want and you just pay for that. I just got the best service ever provided by Kat and the manager I guess. Gosh, what a great experience. I’ll be back bringing a lot of people and if they feel at least half of what I felt here, you’ll get 5 stars again. Foodwise: Fries seasoned so good. Sweet potatoes are cinnamon style, so delish. Unique. Pizza logs are so delicious, I got a vice with them. Towanda chicken dip it’s a goddam MUST, incredible. Cauliflower nuggets are delicious too. Don’t miss that spicy sauce. Thank you so much for enhancing my stay in KC.
