The Phoenix theatre is a new facility located downtown Indianapolis. The theatre has 2 stages. The building is very modern. Beverages, including wine, Sunking beer, and soft drinks. Parking is available across the street and is free.
I saw the play Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. The theater is cosy. The sound system is good. I really liked the display of artwork in the hallway.
This is one of our favorite theaters in Indianapolis. Their plays are like SNL meets the theater. As a result, they aren't your usual theater productions. They are wacky, funny, offbeat, depending on the production a little dark.
CHRISTMAS BE WARNED!! This years (2018) Christmas show is horrible. Last 3 years have been funny and witty. This year was very "interpretive". And I do not mean artistic fun. It was just plain nonsense. Save your cash this year and try another show at this great new venue in 2019.
Fairly recent Theatre. We were in the smaller performance area, with bleacher style seating, but every seat was excellent and it was nice being so close to the performers and stage. Seems to be a good venue!
It was such a great theatre. I was able to see Heathers the musical there. The staff was super friendly, the seat were comfortable and the show was amazing.
