Open Road has excellent, professional customer service. They answered all of my questions so I decided to make the switch after many years with the same carrier (and a premium increase of 70%). So do yourself a favor and you are likely to find better coverage (with Open Road Insurance) at a lower cost; it worked for me and I couldn’t be more pleased.
Open Roads rates for the same coverage was the best value compared to the highest rated companies that I received quotes from. Open Roads has an insurance rating of A+ AM Best. I was able to bind the coverage online with no phone call interview. I paid the premium and coverage was in effect the following day. NOTE: I Haven’t had any claims experience with them currently. But from The reviews that I have seen frequently they receive high ratings.
We have had OpenRoad Insurance for a few months as of this review. They insure our custom, show hearse. They stepped up when nobody else was and not only gave us a fantastic rate, but were also extremely kind, friendly and informative. We love having OpenRoad on our team!

Great car insurance. I called and got insurance in 5 minutes. The also gave me the best rate. Hagerty took forever to respond and process the quote just to tell me at the end that they won't insure my classic car because I might take it off road. What a bullcrap reason. I just needed a liability. Two days of frustration with Hagerty vs 5 minutes with Open Road.
Was with Hagerty for many years. When I saw my renewal premium I was shocked. I learned about Open Road and decided to shop my policy. WOW!!! Same coverage $1,200 w Hagerty $479 with Open Road. So I switched carriers. Was doing a fall color tour and had a catastrophic failure. Drivers front wheel spindle failed. I figured Open Road would only cover the towing. Nope. They covered all kinds of stuff. The agent was great and helped me through the easy, easy claim process. Very fast as well. Exceeded my expectations, big time! I encourage everyone to give Open Road a look. I’m certain you will love them.
I did my research on nearly seven different classic car companies regarding storage area, mileage and driving requirements for classic cars, comp and collision coverage with deductibles. After spending nearly a day on the phone with these seven classic car companies, I finally called Open Road Insurance. I knew from my research that they were a reputable company because of the underwriter of National Interstate Insurance being an A+ rated insurer. I did not know how awesome there customer service team was. The representative allowed me to tailor my policy to my needs and budget. After all was said and done they were not the cheapest but not the highest either. I ended up with an awesome classic car policy that I can afford and feel good about when I drive my classic.
