Bartenders are really nice but you have to get past the id check person in training who doesn't exactly know who's id that they just checked
Absolutely enjoyed my experience at the Blue Moon Tavern. Wait staff is exceptional, food is delicious! My favorite brew I tried was the Ruby, 10/10 would suggest to everyone looking for fantastic food, great atmosphere and a selection of drinks that are to the moon!
I sat down and waited 30 minutes before deciding to leave after receiving no acknowledgement or service. There wasn’t really a whole lot of people in here either. The place was not busy which made it pretty infuriating. The staff would look at me periodically, but not come and take my order. Terrible service. I hope others see this review and avoid this place to drive their profits down.
we had an awesome time here. we walked in and we loved the dark wood and the fireplace and the games. sat in a booth and drank some dark beer and hot cocktails and listened to 80s soft rock. it was a nice spot to chill during the rain.
It’s great spot to hang out. Loved all the old pinball machines and shuffleboard. Unfortunately during my visit I was not able to experience a lot of things from their menu as due to the heatwave it was limited menu, however everything I tried was very good. Very attentive and friendly staff. Parking can be a bit tricky.
Overall, this location has a great vibe. The fire pits are a standout feature that keeps me coming back. Like most McMenamins, the beer is underwhelming—nothing special. I assume others, like me, come for the ambiance, games, and company rather than what's on the menu. Have not eaten here yet, only had a liquid experience thus far.
Always love to check out a McMenamins and they never disappoint. I love that they're all different but still have that McMenamins feel. Tried a couple delicious ciders and played some shuffle board. Absolutely love all the plants.
Stumbled across McMenamins Blue Moon while taking a nice relaxing evening stroll. Immediately fell in love with the Blue Moon signage on the building. Upon walking in, the atmosphere, Energy, all of the decorations, the artwork and the setup with the plants and pool tables we're just so perfect, exciting and intriguing. I absolutely loved the round table seating by the fireplace and I can't wait to come back with a group of friends or with my family to sit there and eat. It was fairly busy, service was average. I ordered a drink only but thoroughly enjoyed sipping my drink while soaking in the awesome vibes. Excited to come back!
My first of several McMenamins, there are many like it(not really), but this one is mine. Didn't do the passport, seems like a commitment my vacation doesn't warrant. Enjoyed the pretzels, fairly generic IPA. Family friendly, cool little HH spot downtown though.
One of the many places that I'm thankful that McMenamins has acquired for preservation of our old school Portland culture! Cozy spot with great service, music, and hot toddys! And just when I thought this place couldn't get any cooler, I discovered that they have jazz music playing in the restroom!!
