Was not even expecting to find an African store in Portland but was happy I did. I really like this place and the customer service was great!
You can get almost every african food, spices, condiments, meat, fish etc here. And the owner is very nice.
The store was clean with great customer service. We loaded our bag before traveling home to the Inland NW.
Nice place they had virtually every cool stuff. And the sales girl was very polite and respectful. Great place.

One thing I really liked is the neat arrangement of the foodstuffs, it makes it easy to find what you're looking for. I've been to other African markets; even though there's so much stuff in here, the orderly arrangement makes it feel walkable and easy to find what you're looking for. ALSO, they don't tamper with their product's BEST BEFORE unlike some other places I've been to. The manager is also cool, he has a winsome smile and gave us bonus produce. 7-star!
Wow! We've never really enjoyed shopping at Mama Paulina's as the people working there tend to be quite unfriendly. However, today was a new low. My partner and I bought Cocoyam there yesterday. It was crazy expensive -$27.75 for two- but we really felt like having some so we decided to splurge. When we got home and cut them open, they were rotten. My partner returned to the store today, less than 24 hours later, with pictures of the rotten cocoyams. He requested a refund and Mama Paulina's absolutely refused to reimburse him for their rotten product. Lesson learned. We will never shop at Mama Paulina's again and advise others to do the same.
