Imagine Energy put a 3kw solar array on my house in Portland. Their team taylored the design to meet some needs I had. They installed it quickly. Its been working without any issue for almost 8 years.

As a high maintenance customer with strict space requirements, I was very pleasantly surprised at how easily and precisely ImagineEnergy's staff were able to put in a new furnace, new hot water heater, and new duct work to match my specifications. We have a liveable basement, and the form factor of their work was important to help us maximize the amount of reclaimed space from an old furnace. The install crew came in and did very, very clean work, keeping the footprint of all ducts and equipment minimal and allowing us to reclaim about 40 square feet of basement. Their staff were pleasant, polite, and proactive in fixing pre-existing problems in my basement. They definitely went above and beyond the contract. Highly recommended.

In 2016 Imagine Energy installed an 8 kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) array on the rooftop of our home to expand the 3 kilowatt PV array we put on the roof when we built the house in 2005. We recommend Imagine Energy to anyone desiring to be more energy independent. Their work is excellent, their solar team is very committed to each project, they stay focused on the installation until it is finished and signed off by the City officials, and are always available if any questions come up. My wife and I endorse Imagine Energy and recommend them to anyone interested in solar photovoltaic installations for their home or business.

I really have appreciated all the folk involved in my solar installation project. While it felt odd to sign my contracts and make my payments via online technology, people DID show up to install the equipment, do inspections (county, energy trust, and the utility). Pat came by to do the final walk through and show me all the buttons and breakers. I want to emphasize the quality of the interactions with each person, especially the guys doing the install.

I had the display on my solar inverter stop working. I contacted Imagine Energy since they did the original installation. (The original install was great and I am very happy with the way the system has worked, hence the 2 stars, otherwise it would have been 1.) I was told the inverter supplier would replace the cover of the inverter under warranty. Got word today that the new cover is in but since my warranty with Imagine was up in 2013, there will now be a $105 installation fee. Deceptive business practices. Ugh!

I was referred to Imagine Energy when the inverters of my solar system failed. Their response was prompt, their expertise obvious, their diagnosis accurate, and their counsel about how to repair it was spot on. They have since repaired my system and I am very pleased with everything they did to get that done. I recommend their services without hesitation for repair, and fully expect they would equally helpful for new installations.

The Imagine Energy Solar team was amazing. They were knowledgeable, personable and professional. Our whole experience with them could not have been better. They were always on-time with appointments, always available for questions/concerns. Our residential solar system was installed promptly and excellently. They helped with the necessary paperwork for governmental rebate programs. In short, a wonderful experience. I would recommend them very highly.

A door-to-door solar salesperson from a competing company came by a rental house of mine a few days ago. The pitch was compelling and I was ready to move forward on purchasing new roof panels. So I contacted Imagine Energy for a second opinion and quote; they did my neighbor’s house last year. Ross, one of Imagine’s sales people, came by and talked me through the process and the details I was unsure about. He walked me through all the (confusing) numbers, short term costs and long term gains, showed me their model for my house and - given the size and the fact that it is a rental, helped me decide that solar, although a great way to potentially control future electric cost increases and a good thing to do for the environment/global warming, actually wasn't a good fit for my current situation, with this rental at this time. It was comforting to talk to someone who could answer every one of my questions clearly, and make the numbers (cost and benefits) and process understandable. (It's pretty confusing when you get into the weeds - the whole "net metering", power company monthly flat fees, annual/seasonal usage, choosing the right number/location of panels, battery or no battery decision metrics, etc.) Grateful to have someone give me an honest opinion on the pros and cons on both the projections, and financing offers I’d gotten, with zero pressure, just good information. To be honest I felt it was downright honorable that he helped me choose to postpone solar on this rental house, rather than pushing me into, a large purchase that wasn't a fit. If you're interested in solar as a good way to control your electric bill costs, Imagine is my choice. Based on this experience, I highly recommend them.

The special system they designed for me so I could incorporate a generator, battery backup and solar has worked out phenomenally. They took care of all permits and licensing, submitted professional plans and drawings, and the install and commissioning went without a hitch. The electrical inspection by the county took less than 10 minutes, with no issues raised. I've already swapped to my battery system twice since it was installed due to power interruptions, and it's been an incredible asset. I've begun expanding the system capacity because of how critically useful it has been.

I saw Scotts review below and had to chime in too. We signed our contract in June '22 as well. Our sales experience with Heath was fantastic and I felt I was making a great choice. It is now April 3, 2023 and I haven't heard anything. I have reached out a few times to see where we're at in queue and I generally get some reasoning that the install crew is sick, or weather is bad. I reached out in February with no response from the Project Manager we were assigned. I've left well enough alone from December through now since obviously the weather hasn't been particularly great, but we're going on 1 year with no clue when we'll be able to get our system installed after an original install estimate of September '22, then Nov '22. I would be very cautious moving forward with Imagine Energy as their Project Management team does not instill the confidence their sales team does. EDIT - 7/19/23. It's done. It's finally done. After submitting this review I was contacted by Heath on their sales team. My project was given to their owner, Pat. Pat followed up shortly thereafter. We had a couple snags getting the install date done, but we got there. The install team was very nice and courteous. The day they arrived it was already too hot and they didnt want to scuff my roof with their shoes so they said they'd come back the next day. They showed up bright and early and started getting everything done and completed that afternoon. A week later the electricians came and got everything wired up, they were also super kind, and Slater was really good at getting back to me about the appointment with City of Gresham to get everything approved. We hit some snags there too and it took a bit longer than expected, but eventually we had Imagine and City of Gresham there to make sure everything was up to code in one visit. It's been about a week since then and PGE just left my house and everything is working as expected. Overall, all parts of this experience actually went rather well minus the project coordination fumbles with communication. Because the Sales team, Installers, and Electricians pulled a LOT of customer service weight I'm changing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. The team that needs help is the Project Managers, which is unfortunate since they should be the main contact point for customers, though Pat did well picking up where they left off and getting us to the finish line.
