The actual exchange was a great experience - lots of options for multiple shopping categories. The person checking us out was nice. However, the workers at Charlie's were extremely rude. They rushed us through our order and acted like they didn't care and didn't want to be there.

Fort Sam Houston Exchange is a fantastic place for shopping! The variety of stores makes it feel like a big shopping center, even though it's relatively small. Active duty personnel benefit from not paying sales tax on their purchases, which is a great perk. The staff is always welcoming and respectful, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. Plus, there's plenty of free parking adjacent to the premises, making it convenient to visit. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!

Friendly people who go out of their way to help. Good selection of items one would find at Target, usually of good quality. For military folks who get paid less. Any profits go back into the base community in the form of other services and benefits for the base.

Old white lady asks for my id, and then 4 other customers in civilian clothes didn’t get asked for id, don’t know what her criteria is to ask id is, but doesn’t look right

Usually high end products, so plan on paying top dollar. Random selections, so if you find something one month, it may not be there again. Some of the employees need training, ours had to keep ringing up the items, then somehow messing it up. On this day, she kept telling stories, it took so long my husband couldn't stand the pain and had to go wait in the truck. Even if it's tax free and convenient for soldiers, if you can skip the PX on Ft. Sam, go elsewhere. Better selection, better prices.

Friendly and very courteous staff who were very helpful with my request. Store was very clean and well stocked; lines were a little long but the staff quickly called for help and rectified the situation. Very pleasant atmosphere to shop for your clothing, some housewares and electronic needs. Highly recommend if you have base access.

I really love the PX I go in there for the perfume and the makeup. Their clothes are way overpriced though for my taste or liking. I love the food court there it would be nice if they would allow government employees non military the privilege of purchasing there, all I can do is go in and look and get someone with an ID card to buy for me that really sucks.

The new PX is so much nicer than the previous building. Came back in town and got to finally see it after 5 years. It’s beautiful! The PX has a good variety of everything but I feel like it could have been built bigger for the amount of people housed in the fort Sam area. A+ but wish it was bigger
