I've been working with Edward Franklin for almost two years on completing a custom build. Due to the timing and prevailing market conditions, we were forced to delay breaking ground on our house for a year. Edward Franklin has been patient and dedicated in working with us throughout the planning process, and now through the build. We would have never considered building a new house if we would not have chanced upon one of their models and were deeply impressed by the quality of their craftsmanship and innovation in design, both exterior and interior. I'll update after our house sees completion, but for now I couldn't be happier about my choice.

Innovative house designer but very unprofessional management and customer service. We were excited for a new construction and worked on customization ideas together. We agreed on a price based off the show home that was higher due to various reasons provided by the builder. Okay. We were excited and thought it was worth it. Agreed to a completion date. Made plans to get our current house prepared and on the market. The process concerns were the following: no construction activity and clearly we were going to miss the completion date by a lot; getting asked to pay for extra overage cost for the same appliances and getting a request to pay a surcharge above and beyond the agreed price due to market dynamics. What is the point of agreeing to a purchase price based on a pre-defined set of amenities, appliances and fixtures if the builder comes back to nickel and dime the buyer. These were all red flags for us and requested that we cancel the agreement before construction started. The builder agreed but kept 10% of our downpayment saying it was their sunk cost. We were done with them. Construction finally did start and we saw our elevation, design ideas were getting incorporated into the new house. So, they made us pay for the architecture work cost, but took it and used it. Left us with a sour taste for this experience.
EFBC helped bring a vision to life with perfect execution. I couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish. They are building some of the coolest houses in Kansas City's historic neighborhoods. The interior design and finish out was the Cherry on top. Thanks to the entire EFBC team!
Everyone at Edward Franklin has been great to work with, they've been responsive and the home they built has been incredible for my wife and I. We could not have asked for a better home.
