My experience with college connections was great! Jenny buyens specifally, helped me find the college of dreams which was not on my list to start off with. She helped my family and I with financial stuff and also making sure I was presenting my best self to the college. If I could do my college search again, I would have Jenny help me again.

Your knowledge, consultation/schedule, and guidance made us feel like Tony made his college decision thoughtfully and intentionally. You held him accountable, which meant we were able to be spectators and see him do research, write, question, and make some tough decisions that only he could answer. You also built a relationship over the course of your work. You were genuinely invested in the process, and quickly picked up on his personality, mannerisms, and ways to best meet his needs.

After working with Julie Ekkers through both of our kids' college application processes, I couldn't recommend her services more enthusiastically. Our kids have had very different approaches to choosing a college - - one highly engaged, with definite ideas about her ideal school, and the other fairly indifferent, with no specific, preconceived ideas (or, honestly, strong opinions one way or the other). Julie patiently spent the time with each of them to get to know them better and help them start to identify their top priorities in terms of academics, location, student body and culture. After Julie helped the kids narrow down their initial choices to the final application list, she took them step-by-step through the entire application process, sending reminders about each item as it came due and reviewing multiple drafts of personal essays. She does not take a heavy hand with these reviews - - rather, she worked with the kids to brainstorm and then tighten up essays that highlight their unique strengths and personality characteristics. (Of all of the assistance Julie offers, as a working mom, I think this was the most valuable and likely saved a number of heated arguments through the process!) Both kids had their applications in and done well before the final deadlines so we could relax and enjoy the holidays stress-free. Finally, Julie is truly a joy to work with; she is patient and calm, settling the nerves of both students and parents. She is incredibly well-researched and was able to speak to specific details for every campus we asked her about. For our second child, once the pandemic hit and we were unable to visit schools in person, Julie took the time to send us her incredibly detailed notes from her own last visits to the campuses and spent extra time helping our daughter narrow down her final selections. In sum, I highly, highly recommend working with Julie to help your students survive and thrive through their college application and selection process.
