Amazing service from Nestor at Budget. This is a great location and I will always hire from here in Chicago
Ironic enough, don't rent from here if you are using a "budget" Employees are trained to superimpose upgrades and offer insulting customer service based on confirmed reservations. If you have a direct booking or booking through third party for their website, they will all but honor your reservation. When I went to this location they were understaffed, had me wait almost 20 minutes for someone to come out of the back office and then tried to tell me the reservation wasn't available. Then they would only honor the reservation at the location if I paid an additional upgrade fee per day. The only other solution they offered was to switch my reservation to a location 7 miles away when the other budget/avis within 2 miles also had availability. (I know because I checked myself.) so after waiting for terrible customer service, I was then told the only way to get a car was to pay an upcharge even after reaching out to the office coordinator via email.
The counter staff at S. Franklin st are very courteous and helpful. The 3 star rating is due to the failure to clean the vehicles when the cost of renting has increased substantially. Our Toyota Rav has long pieces of straight black human hair on the front console and in between the seats. The gas tank was only 1/2 full which represents a decline in service and an inconvenience. I had to report the smoke -like smell in what they call a non-smoking vehicle to make sure we were not held responsible . I hope this is an aberration and not the new standard .
