Botany has a lot of variety and selection for zippers, fastenings, and different trims. I came in at a non-busy time so I could we able to get individualized attention. The staff is very helpful if you know what you’re looking for and can customize some of the zippers in length if necessary for a small fee in maybe 5 minutes so long as there’s not w bunch of customers (I got a separating zipper customized). For NYC the prices are reasonable if it’s a zipper that you can’t find cheaper somewhere else.
Unbelievably rude older guy! He was intentionally disrespectful when I asked about zippers - even his colleague was surprised and embarrassed for his behavior. He allowed me to get my own zipper from a section in the back, only to shout at me to put it back, making it seem like I didn’t just ask him for help and was up to something. (Why I asked for help in the first place.) They also don’t have structure to their products, but loose sections that aren’t organized. The store hours aren’t even reliable! It’s not consistent and the employees moods aren’t either. They take 2x long as Pacific to cut zippers, which is the only thing they have a good selection of. But not enough for me to ever go back there. Stick to Pacific Trimming.
Extremely rude CUSTOMER SERVICE & accused me of stealing. Lol. Firstly, I’ve spend 1k+ in this store on vinyl plus hardware alone. I came in during a weekday recently showing interest in their blank hoodies. There was three people in front of me and only one worker taking care of each customer while the other workers were just standing there. After patiently waiting, I proceeded to see if they had my size before I waste my time by waiting in line just to be unsatisfied because they didn’t have my size. I didn’t have a bag with me or anything and the minute I picked up a hoodie WHICH WAS IN PLASTIC the older worker started to shout and tell me I can’t touch inventory followed along by another worker (Guy who I believe is the owner). They repeated themselves as if I couldn’t comprehend. There is no sign in tact stating that CUSTOMERS can’t touch inventory. I felt very off and uncomfortable after that because after spending tons of money in this expensive place they treat you with tacky customer service LOL. I’LL TAKE MY MONEY ELSEWHERE. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. JOKES ON YOU :)
Great variety of buttons, trims, and other things you might need. Ive only purchased buttons from them so i dont remember all the things they carry, but if you are looking for buttons, i recommend going here. It has a greater/wider selection of buttons than i have found elsewhere. Wide range of price points, too.
Don't be fooled by the extensive inventory! Returned from a trip to NY to find that the store clerks had packed all single sides of snaps and hardware (you're not allowed to pack your own products). No refunds or returns, only the response to "stop in" to exchange for the merchandise they took my money for in the first place. Can't exactly drop on in from Virginia... Plenty of other choices in that neighborhood, I just didn't know that this one was a waste of time and money.
Terrible service I will never go back due to the way they treat people and their overpriced trims. Go to pacific trimmings they much more respectful and will treat you like a decent human being. Also spoke to the manager of the store her attitude to me sounds like she does not care. One star is for the black gentleman in the front that actually gives great service.
Came in here on my job run! We work with high end clothing and Nima, the nicest worker by the counter, helped me find quality buttons for our client’s garments!
Has been years since I made my first purchase, today is the first time a have a bad experience. I always know is over price but at least service were fast and efficient. I just hope Debbie is back to reorganize that store again!
Be careful- I was told I could order 250 magnetic clasps from Botani. I provided a sample of my product to Neiman Marcus who was interested in buying. When it was time to place the order (a week later) they say they could no longer provide the order because the had stopped making the item.
