The overall company does not value others people hard earned money. A.C Electric was over paid almost 2000 by my bank. I was told I a refund would be issued 11/16/2020. I’ve called maybe 2 or 3 times per month since then - ( November/ December). It is now 1/16/2021 and my refund has not been received. No refund has been received but a bill has been received. I’m so disappointed that a company would have no urgency, compassion , or care to issue someone their money back to them as stated. How long is this company going to hold on to my money? And how is this ok? Not to mention- during a pandemic! I’m headed to the bbb immediately after this to file a complaint! You don’t play with peoples money! That’s playing with their livelihood! Better Business Complaint Submitted Below 1/16/2021 Atlantic City was overpaid by almost 2000 dollars in total. I contacted them immediately and notified them of this matter on 11/16/2020. I was told that a refund would be issued. Weeks had gone by and no refund was received. I called back to find that the check was mailed to an incorrect address that I was never affiliated with! I was told that a check would be reissued and I would receive it in a week or so. Months have gone by, I’ve called several times about not receiving my refund. This is a refund well over 1000.00 dollars. There was no compassion, urgency, or care to rectify the issue immediately! All I’ve been told is that - the check would be coming. Not only is this unacceptable, but it has began to affect my other bills being paid on time as well as my credit. This has affected not only my livelihood but the livelihood of my children. 1000.00 dollars is not 1 dollar, nor is it 10 dollars. It is unfair and absolutely ridiculous that a company could get away with playing with someone’s money overall - but especially at a time like this ( during a global pandemic)! They should be held accountable and I should receive additional compensation for this ! I wish I had the choice to switch to another electric company but that isn’t an option. Please assist me in this matter and they should be held to a higher standard having providing a service as serious as providing electricity to families as well as businesses.

I made $205 deposit when I moved in 09/01/2024 and was told that I would get my deposit refunded back to me on 09/30/2025. I called Atlantic city electric on 10/06/2025 about my deposit refund and was told that my deposit would be refunded 09/30/2026. I asked for supervisor and was told that the supervisor said they had to check my credit and then the supervisor said my deposit would be refunded within 14 to 21 days. 10/11/2025 i received my atlantic city electric bill to find out that my deposit refund has been credited to my account. I gave a cash deposit and I require a deposit refund check. I am going to report this to the NJ Board of Public Utilities, new media outlets and I am contacting an attorney. They were first trying to accumulate interest off of my money and now they are trying to keep my money within their company when I have zero balance and do not owe atlantic city electric any money at all. I should be conducting a credit check and background check on atlantic city electric. They have a lot of nerve. They are Scammers and con artists!

Worst electrical company ever!!! Most of my bill is delivery fees and it goes up and up! They only care about THE money lining their pockets. This out right THEFT. Atlantic City Electric is robbing their customers! We are barely home and barely use any electricity. We pretty much froze all winter keeping the heat to a minimum. AND MY BILL IS $600?!?! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES

Customer service is somehow always receiving a higher number of calls than usual. The customer service reps are always transferring to someone else or have just hung up on me for no reason, they also never know how to help or understand the issue. Also crazy prices and deposits.

Atlantic City Electric is the WORST of any utility company to have. Myself and many other homeowners are stuck because of their monopoly over southern New Jersey. There are no options to choose from and you are stuck. The electricity rates have increase 14% this year alone, when CPI data is only 1.1% YTD!!!!! I’d like to see these clowns address why they need a 14% increase this year. This utility company is a SCAM and they will charge you for their failed projects like the windmills because they merely couldn’t afford it. Just read your bill and google the things they are billing you for, it’s truly ridiculous. If you can go solar, it’ll save you a ton of money. They lose a customer and you save your money by also adding equity to your home.

Customers of Atlantic City Electric WE NEED TO START A PETITION TO STOP THIS MADNESS! Because this company is horrible!!! And if you pay online it’s now a 2.95$ convenience fee?!! Yall are already scamming us out of the money for our bill. Now you need to add a extra dollar when we pay through the app. This is absolutely disgusting.

Today I tried Again to pay my bill. The website was Flashing when I tried it - 2 different browsers. The website doesn't accept my payment without saving it to my wallet - AND won't pay it as a Guest without charging me now to use my checking account!!!!!! ACE is the worst for technology - it a wonder they can do electricity!!

They are a disgrace. They revised my electric 4x for the same months. My first bill was an actual bill I have guy on camera reading my meter. Then every week I open a new bill for higher amount from previous month saying they all need be revised. Then they say they didn't get my payments. Customer service is rude. You wait for over an hour get a representative they hang up on you. I've reported them to BBB and the board of utilities and contacted a utilities lawyer. I am looking into alternative electric suppliers in my area.

Power outages on sunny days, and absolutely criminal delivery charges to support our "infrastructure". The same infrastructure that blows out when the sun is shining and there's not a single breeze. I have and will continue to file BPU complaints. Screw you. 0 need to charge almost triple your competitors besides greed. Lived in 8 towns and never dealt with the criminal delivery charges until I had to have the unfortunate pleasure of being stuck with yall.

This is by far the worst electric company. The price for service is unheard of. I moved into my place & received almost a $500 electric bill within two weeks of me moving in which they explained it to be my security deposit. Within the same month I received a bill of over $600. I have not paid a bill less than $450 thus far & I've only been at my place going on 4 months. I'm so upset there are no other service providers in my area. Might I mention the only time I'm home is to sleep. I work all day long, every day. There's no way I'm running an electric bill of over $400/month.
